"Our sources familiar with internal Xbox trends told me that third-party transactions are up year-over-year. With comments from Xbox CEO Phil Spencer and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella indicating that Xbox consoles are enjoying record engagement too, it paints a picture of a healthy, thriving ecosystem for game developers."

Xbox going multiplatform

*Third party sales increase on Xbox* wait a second, that's not how that works!

Fr though, Xbox has been actively reaching out to attract developers to the platform. Hopefully as time goes on, there will be fewer misses on the platform.

Also,

"Microsoft already shared its line up for 2025 during the Xbox Showcase 2024 last June, but our sources indicate that Microsoft has a couple of additional tricks up its sleeve for next year as well to maintain the strong momentum it has with content right now."
This could be something like Contraband and Double Fine's next project.

First half of 2025 release I imagine

^Yeah, they have too many studios now for 2025 to only be Avowed, South of Midnight, Fable, and CoD. Contraband makes sense, if it is even still in development, as does Double Fine's next game. Project Mara seems possible if it is still a short game, as does Clockwork Revolution, which had gameplay footage ready in 2023.

There has to be Forza Horizon 6 coming out next year.

Speaking of Double Fine, I wish they would make Costume Quest 3.

Seeing how FH4 and 5 have performed, a FH6 would be a MONSTER release! But like any game that would target holiday 2025, they would have to be careful releasing it anywhere near GTA 6.

It'll have been 4 years between releases, and FH5 was Playground's previous longest time to release at 3 years. And that was with last-gen in mind. Playground would reach goated status if they release both Fable and FH6 in the same year.

In the world of MS actually spacing their games out accordingly now, I don't see them throwing out one of their biggest IPs out to die. The IP is certainly capable of doing well outside of a Fall/Holiday release. A Fable and FH6 release in the same year would be amazing for them if they deliver on both.

Looks like the stop motion animation can be turned off during gameplay
