Just got through watching a before you buy video on DA: The Veilguard.  Many of the gripes that are a turnoff for most, many of the negatives for others, the lack of this, the lack of that, make this...

...an absolute purchase for me.  This will be another time sink for me.   I have been in absolute hogheaven for the last 4 years.  My backlog contains over a decade of anticipated bliss.  I'm grateful for the way my fucked up brain was created.

My interests are all gameplay mechanics related.

Friend is playing it who played previous Dragon Age's and is enjoying it, which is funny because he didn't know it released until I told him I was getting it, they said the graphics looked meh but then bought it, Lol. Said the boss fights are awesome and they're putting in a lot of hours. Very much the type of gamer that plays a lot of games but completely oblivious to shit like Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Gaming Forums, etc. Sometimes I envy him, Lmao. There are days where I'm happy for the people I've met online then days I wish I never became part of online gaming culture.

Do I need an Activision account to play Black Ops 6?

The more Rod speaks about Gears 5, the more my opinion on his creative decision making lowers

For me he didn't need to speak about Gears 5, playing the game was enough to lower my opinion on his creative decision making. Too many things were such a mess.

Hiverbusters was great though, don't know how involved he was with it but I'd guess not very.

I enjoyed Gears 5 but in hindsight the choice ending is a major mistake and learning that Rod not only essentially pushed it onto the team but also didn't even have a plan for the future in regards to it, confirms to me that the choice ending was a mistake. It seems like Rod expected one choice to easily beat the other one and they would have went with a single canon ending (whichever choice was the most popular) but it seems that backfired because the split is nearly even between the two choices, thus they can't pick a single canon ending without pissing off a huge portion of players, they either have to piss off players or do something that seemingly wasn't even in the plans; create two diverging storylines for Gears 6 and Rod, the man who decided all of this, left the studio, Lmao. So the team is just left picking up the pieces of a decision they didn't want.

Damn, it's pretty foolish to expect such thing. I don't know why he'd think one of these characters would be overwhelmingly more popular than the other. Well they did make a low-ass effort to make JD a "bad" & unlikeable but still.. anyway, the choice thing was an awful mistake and no hindsight needed lol already hated it in 2019.

But the new trailer looked grim and cool. I've no doubt the team can do better without Rod.

Gears 5 Canon ending was known at this point for 5+ years. That decision may seem bad and risky but their are a ton pissed that they go back to the past instead of 6.

ED seems risky and could have been dlc aswell.

Did you guys know Ara: History Untold released back in late September?
I remember seeing it in one of the shows, about upcoming games.... and then, nothing?

This was supposed to be the game that kills the Civ Series? Its just odd it launched, and I'd swear there was like 0 marketing for it.
I had no idea it was out already.

Its exclusive to PC and the genre isnt really as big as say a FPS horror or one of the indie walking simulators that sells a lot on Steam.

Doesnt help its $60.

Came out in September.
