Ryuu96 said: I enjoyed Gears 5 but in hindsight the choice ending is a major mistake and learning that Rod not only essentially pushed it onto the team but also didn't even have a plan for the future in regards to it, confirms to me that the choice ending was a mistake. It seems like Rod expected one choice to easily beat the other one and they would have went with a single canon ending (whichever choice was the most popular) but it seems that backfired because the split is nearly even between the two choices, thus they can't pick a single canon ending without pissing off a huge portion of players, they either have to piss off players or do something that seemingly wasn't even in the plans; create two diverging storylines for Gears 6 and Rod, the man who decided all of this, left the studio, Lmao. So the team is just left picking up the pieces of a decision they didn't want. |
Damn, it's pretty foolish to expect such thing. I don't know why he'd think one of these characters would be overwhelmingly more popular than the other. Well they did make a low-ass effort to make JD a "bad" & unlikeable but still.. anyway, the choice thing was an awful mistake and no hindsight needed lol already hated it in 2019.
But the new trailer looked grim and cool. I've no doubt the team can do better without Rod.
