I never cared if ABK games weren't going to be exclusive it's not like they have much to offer anyway, no one is getting taken off CoD anytime soon. I would fine with GaaS titles and AA/indie level games going day and date like South of Midnight and Towerborne, I would be totally fine if the ported over Halo Infinite Multiplayer and Gears Multiplayer as long as the campaigns stay exclusive to the console. I'm not cool with single player AAA games like Starfield going over and giving us timed exclusives as some sort of compensation.

They need to split Halo Campaign from Multiplayer either way.

INB4 the reason Nate isn't leaking Pentiment is he's scared of Obsidian blacklisting him like they blacklisted Jez, Lmfao.

I can see it being the Forza series, the licenses required to make the game means that they have a shelf life before they get delisted. There might be meltdowns over this one but personally wouldn't be losing any sleep over a Racing game.

Breaking News!

Microsoft to release games on PS5 *prior* to their Xbox Series launch, with many going a full 1 year timed exclusive! Phil is both congratulating himself as a publisher leader and blindsided as a hardware manufacturer leader.

Nobody outfoxes Phil like Phil does!

So here's where we stand.

  • Hi-Fi Rush is practically confirmed.
  • Sea of Thieves seems very likely.
  • Pentiment seems likely.
  • Starfield NOT coming to PS according to Nate.
  • There's one more unknown.

Imo, the other unknown is Grounded.

So the trend so far is GAAS or Smaller Title/Niche Titles.

I think this could be made clear if it is just GAAS/Smaller Titles.

I'm just going to disregard AB, I don't really think anyone gives a shit if they're multiplatform or exclusive or think ABK has any reflection on exclusivity of other projects, ABK barely releases anything new as it is and what they do release are massive community focused titles (Diablo, COD, Overwatch) or not even on Consoles (Mobile/WOW).

Would be funny if that ends up being it; that list is very.... tame considering how much of a PR mess it's been for Xbox. Also yeah, ABK will be multiplat. Are any of the Activision or Blizzard studios even working on a new game at this point that isn't part of an already large billion-dollar franchise?

I don understand why MS just don let their plans materialize. They bought the studios and the games are progressing. Now let them release and if they’re good they’ll sell more consoles. Instead they start over because one game? Starfield was a success too being one of the top selling games last year and being on gamepass. One game alone instead going to move the needle, you need atleast 3 Starfields a year consistently. Plus they have steam and games like SoT and Forza have over 30m players. Whatever they do they need to be clear with the messaging or everyone will just assume everything’s timed.

Infinite Wealth further thoughts:

Does a great job with its portrayal of American life. Reminds me of GTA in terms of the satire, eve though a lot of it is painfully true. Love having the ability have custom playlists throughout the overworld with songs from games like Persona

They're not starting over. We're still not even sure what their plans are. I almost wonder if MS actually knows for sure what their plans are. They seem to be considering various options.

But beyond that, the issue isn't "one game". They've been struggling to make the kind of traction they want, for a couple of years at this point. That's not to say they're doing poorly or anything.

I just saw the discussion several pages ago.

I didnt know we had a secret Japanese developer in VGChartz!?

I bet he's in Bandai Namco cause of the Naruto name, how's Dragon Ball Sparking Zero coming along?
