Wonder if all this 3rd party shit is geared towards another buyout?

This has been speculation by a few, Idas included.

They were blasted from ABK but if they start giving off the impression they're willing to release more and more titles on other platforms, it would make getting through regulators even easier. Idas believes it will be how the next big acquisition happens.

I also believe JFTC would force Microsoft to make all Sega IP multiplatform if they were to be acquired (not saying they will be acquired, I'm just using it as an example) so Microsoft could be prepping for that.

Required public statement.

Privately:

Yeah, Lmao.

If a private company says they aren't interested, I believe that more but a public company, almost all of them have a price.

Lars really was a dumb MF with zero plan, the entire Embracer plan collapsed from losing a single deal with the Saudis...Smfh.

I think on paper Microsoft's structure is A LOT less complex than Embracer's gobbling up absolutely everything and throwing them wherever, and MS Gaming are acquiring already profitable companies, leaving them limited integrated and overall MS Gaming is profitable in the low single digit billions even before ABK. MS's plan is more clear than Embracer's.

I thought Embracer's plan was to make their own sub service Tbh, or build themselves up to sell themselves off, or they could have took advantage of the subscription wars and made a bunch of deals for Game Pass/PS+ etc. But nah, their entire plan seemed to be "get some money off the Saudis"

Another thought... sony loves to follow. What if after idk.. 5 plus years, so 2029, 2030, sony decides to port old games to xbox too. Never say never.

It's funny for all the anger around what Microsoft is doing, Sony has also called their own pillars "dated" and behind Microsoft's.

I can't see Sony porting games to Xbox anytime soon (with the exception of Marathon/Bungie titles) but I fully believe Sony will start doing day one PC releases eventually, they are already doing so with their GAAS titles and I think it will eventually expand to their SP titles, the timeframe will get shorter over time, the rising development costs but a console market which has already hit its ceiling will eventually push them to expand, Imho.

And if Marathon is a big hit on Xbox too, then it might convince them to put their GAAS on Xbox too.

As long as I can still play my favorite games from Xbox, I don't really care what platform it's on.
