So Versus and Spade are having this same cloud save issue then, that's not good. Really hope the first post-launch patch is soon and fixes alot.

I’ve never even heard of another gaming having this issue. I’m 145hrs in, level 100, and only got a handle of things left to finish, if I lost my saves at this point I’d never touch the game again …..   oh and I’m also in the middle of finishing up the Serenity ship :)

Nice, I was planning to start on my own Serenity build today. Can you save your work in the ship builder, I sure hope so.

Yeah I’ve done markers all over the planet, no luck. It’s Wetlands and there are no oceans on the planet so there’s no coast biome to go to and search for aquatic creatures. I’ve found a couple Reddit posts of people having this same issue with the same planet missing the last creature so maybe it’s a bug.

kinda?, you need to have a functional ship to accept changes.

Ride The Chariot || Games Complete ‘24 Edition

Space engineers just turned 10 years

It's been 5-6 years since I've played this game and it looks like it has been updated a lot.

The best way to describe the game is Minecraft in space with a focus on crafting ships, vehicles, bases, and machinery.

Its strong point IMO (which may be outdated) is that it features the best

  • Mining/resource collection: With all space bodies being fully destructible and persistent, mining and resource collections are extremely tangible, You can completely mine out large asteroids from their most valuable resources forcing you to get farther or deeper for resources.
  • Inventory: Here I think the best feature is the conveyor system which allows you to move resources from storage to anything requiring it (refinery, turrets, power generator, etc.) adding a layer of functionality to crafting design without making it too complex. A little reminiscent of Factorio on that front.

However, the game had other not-so-good aspects and lacked content and purpose making the overall experience more time-consuming with very little in the way of rewarding you for the actual progression. Still, I may spend more time with it in the not-so-distant future to see how much the experience has evolved.

Unity has signed its own gravestone. Their CEO is a fucking clown, who they hire, Phil Harrison?

Actually, it's another popular name from a bygone era: EA's old CEO John Riccitello.

For anyone who doesn't remember him, Riccitello is the same clown who suggested charging players real money to reload their gun in a shooter. Some of the highlights of his 6 year reign as CEO of EA.

  • Their stock lost nearly 5/6ths of it's value over the 6 years he was CEO, from 61 a share at the highest point of his reign soon after he became CEO, down to 11 a share at the lowest point of his reign
  • 3 different rounds of layoffs in 2008, early 2009, and late 2009, between the 3 amounting to more than 30% of their workforce laid off
  • Attempted to buyout Take-Two for $26 a share, a 64% premium over their value at the time, then later backed out of acquisition after their financials became so poor they could no longer afford the buyout
  • The creation of EA's Origin client as a competitor to Steam, which subsequently flopped so hard that it made Epic Games Store look like a successful Steam competitor by comparison
  • Was either directly or indirectly responsible for the closing of more than 20 facilities, about 10 of which were complete studio closures, including Pandemic and Danger Close Games
  • Asked by the board of directors to step down in 2013 after repeated poor financials

The fact that a CEO this awful was able to find Executive work first at Oculus and later at Unity, is a testament to how shitty the business world is.

First hotfix. DLSS will officially added at some point along with the others listed below

  • Brightness and Contrast controls
  • HDR Calibration Menu
  • FOV Slider
  • Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
  • 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
  • Eat button for food!

We’re also working closely with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on driver support, and each update will include new stability and performance improvements.

Additionally, we are working on our built-in mod support (Creations) that will work across all platforms similar to what we’ve done with Skyrim and Fallout 4. This full support is planned to launch early next year. Until then, we know our PC community is already very active in the modding space and if you have any feedback on how we can make this better, please let us know . Modding and creating in our games will always be a vital and important part of who we are, and we love seeing the community get off to such a strong start.

Here's the official patch notes of improvements

Update Version 1.7.29 - Fixes and Improvements
Performance and Stability
  • Xbox Series X|S
     Improved stability related to installations.
  • Various stability and performance improvements to reduce crashes and improve framerate.

Quests
  • All That Money Can Buy
: Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.
  • Into the Unknown
: Fixed an issue that could prevent the quest from appearing after the game is completed.
  • Shadows in Neon:
Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.

First hotfix. DLSS officially added lol

Actually it says DLSS isn't part of the hotfix, the hotfix is just for some of the biggest bugs they have discovered post-launch (hopefully crashing and such will be mostly fixed now). Says that DLSS is on their list of planned additions in the coming patches, alongside:

- Brightness and Contrast controls

- HDR Calibration Menu

- FOV Slider

- 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)

- Eat button for food!

Also a confirmation that mods are coming early 2024, before they just said 2024 which had some people worried mods would take longer than the 6 months for Fallout 4.

We’re also reading all your great feedback on what you’d like to see improved or added to the game. This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming!

Nice. Starfield really opens itself up to being able to be supported with content for years, more so than Skyrim.

Eat button for food!

Lmao. Good.
