Yea the leveling isn’t that great. I felt like I was leveling up pretty good doing the main quest but with the side content it’s very slow.

Yeah, I've gotten as little as 100 XP for completing side quests, meanwhile I can get 10 XP or more just farming creatures during planet exploration, the amount of XP on side quests just isn't equivalent to the time investment of doing them.

Yeah oddly enough in Space my ship is way over leveled because after a side quests i saw a rogue ship and stole it. I was very under leveled for that but with some strategic melee and explosives i took the ship and the outer space portions have been very easy since then but my actual character level is pretty low (lv6) and i just had a quest where there were a swarm of enemies up to level 40 so I think thats the game telling me I need to go back to the main quest.

Starfield is freaking massive. I'm at 16+ hours playtime and I have only made it to the ground on 7 planets/moons so far; Jemison, Mars, Luna, Mercury, Earth, Charon, and Ceti Tau II, and of those, I haven't fully explored any of the 7. I've gotten like 15 quests and activities done, but still have like 12 more in my quest log. I still have yet to visit either of the other 2 main hub cities, Akila and Neon, and I still haven't finished the 2nd main story quest (about to go back to the Lodge after finding the 4th piece of the artifact).

BTW, I found an exploit that lets you smuggle contraband without the proper equipment or perk usually needed to do so. Typically you're supposed to only be able to smuggle contraband 3 ways, a ship with a shielded cargo hold, a ship with a scan jammer, or the Deception perk which lessens the effectiveness of cargo scans at each tier by 10 to 20 to 30 to 50%. However, as I discovered after finding contraband in the Robot Factory on Pluto's Moon Charon, it is possible to sell your contraband on Mars without needing any of the 3 above things. Mars has a security scan in orbit like nearly every planet which has a Trade Authority fence, but I discovered that if you immediately open the planet map before the orbital scan starts and choose to land on Mars, you can land before the scan takes place and then go sell your contraband to the Trade Authority representative on Mars.

You can also just go to the den in wolf and sell contraband there.

Ride The Chariot || Games Complete ‘24 Edition

Took me a bit to realise I could hide spacesuit in settlements, Lol.

Also that a companion can be given any weapon but they need ammo to use it, I believe it only has to be literally one bullet though and it never runs out for companions, for a while I had my Sarah running around punching everything and I was like "why aren't you using the damn gun I gave you!"

Been playing all night smh.

Didn't get any sleep yet.

Also if you want to see some humor Dan on twitter having a meltdown over that 7. RIP.

Does anyone know if there's any point giving companions better equipment like spacesuits, does it have any status effects on them, or armour upgrades, or is it purely cosmetic?

Great to see that everyone is too busy enjoying the game to post in this thread.

Not sure. It definitely benefits them in Skyrim, in Skyrim they will equip the best stat items in each slot that you give them, and better gear does improve their damage and defense. I would assume it is the same in Starfield. I gave Sarah the 2nd best of each slot item that I have, and she equipped them, so I assume it works the same as Skyrim.

Do the side quest "Mantis" ASAP.
