Sony is definitely not doing themselves or their consumers any good at this point. For every action/ equal opposite reaction/ karma, what goes around comes around, ect. ect..

I'd not be surprised if the industry at large is getting a little sick of it too, Hoeg made a point that Microsoft probably doesn't want this going to court because "industry secrets" will be forced to be revealed on all sides, I'd guess likely 3rd parties will be dragged in too.

If it gets dragged to course maybe we will finally get exact sales figures for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. But other than that dragging it to court is not a good look, especially for Sony, when no one in the gaming industry is against the deal.

Become Like Nintendo.

  • Best Selling IPs.
  • Actually Profits on Hardware.
  • Best Selling Hardware Manufacturer.

I can't get over this quote, I wonder what Nintendo makes of it, I don't even get the point that Sony is trying to make here aside from playing on CMA's ignorance from when they claimed that Switch doesn't compete with Xbox/PlayStation and is more a fitness device than a gaming one, Lol.

Tbh...Xbox 360 often had the tagline of being the home of FPS titles too, didn't stop Sony from outselling it.

The truth is, that's a statement that only makes any kind of sense as an argument for why this is bad for Sony, if they view Nintendo the same way that certain fanboys view them. It's completely divorced from business reality.

They always have viewed Nintendo that way, Sony has never taken Nintendo seriously as a competitor, apparently even now after Switch kicked PS4's ass in less time on the market. Remember when former Sony Computer Entertainment of America President Jack Tretton called the Wii a kids "Lollipop" and the DS a "babysitting tool" compared to Sony's PS3 and PSP? They seem to be totally divorced from reality, unbelieving that Nintendo consoles can outsell them with poor specs and lower 3rd party support, even as Switch has already done so.

Wii a kids lolipop? that's alot of Lolipop compared to Xbox 360 and PS3 ^_^ I think Jack Tretton wanted to Finish the WII off and make Nintendo 3rd party that quote was aggressive I liked the PS3 though .

Well completed Vampire survivors, up to the next game.

If this deal falls through, I hope MS swoops up miltiple devs and studios. Need MS to stop playing nice if this goes left.

Yep, I've been saying that for awhile now. I like some of what Spencer does, but he plays far too nice with Sony for my liking. They want total domination of the market again like gen 6 with PS2 curbstomping Xbox and Gamecube, it's why they have been moneyhatting so many timed exclusive and fully exclusive games and 3rd party marketing deals + timed exclusive content for them. You just can't play nice with a company like that. It's one thing to play nice with Nintendo, they're not really out for blood like Sony is, but Xbox playing nice with Sony is like a sheep trying to befriend a wolf.

If the deal somehow gets blocked then I wonder how Activision relationship with Sony will be after the CoD marketing deal expires, the board will 100% be pissed off that they cost them a massive payday and will likely not engage to renew the deal.

Don't think it matters, I think Microsoft will outbid Sony either way if this deal doesn't go through and likely go back to engaging in large scale moneyhat practices again.

Even if this deal does go through and I believe that it still will, MS still needs to change their business practices and stop with this nice guy attitude I’m not a fan of Money-Hatting but Sony are not going to stop doing it themselves.

MS will be in a better position when it comes to 1st party in 2023 but they still need to be competitive when it come to 3rd party games.
