Forums - Gaming - NetEase Has Acquired Quantic Dream

Ugh, Tencent was bad enough on its own without NetEase also stepping in. They bought up Grasshopper Manufacture awhile back.

Didn't see that? I didn't know they wanted to be acquired?

They've wanted to be acquired for quite a long time.
For a while the head of Quantic Dream was being open that they wanted to be a part of PlayStation Studios.

Of course I would. Of course. I really like Sony, honestly I do. They’ve made some bets with developers like Fumito Ueda and Media Molecule. I kind of feel loyal to them.

Being part of a bigger publisher has some good advantages for studios. There's less worrying about funding for instance.

But Sony got kind of disturbed by Quantic Dream, and wanted to bail out.

NetEase has been investing in them since early 2019:

What did Quantic Dream do that freaked out Sony?

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Anyone know the price?

Sony should have put a ring on it first.

As someone that loves their first game, Omikron: Nomad Soul, and liked Indigo Prophecy, but felt that everything after that is Cage's personal "I want to be a director" ego trip, I can't say I'll be too disturbed if they go full retard, given that chances of Omikron: Karma went up in flame a long, long time ago.

So is David Cage loaded now?
