I suspect that they are not usually gullible, often they are mentally unwell in many ways. Also, usually it isn't their own money that is stolen, but their parents' money, or a credit card loan, etc...

Unless a person is very rich (in which case *maybe* they are gullible) they don't part with large quantities of money voluntarily. Mind you, I've spent a lot of money on dumb stuff over the years...

Many Gen Z and Millenials think bitcoin is going to a million any day now, so they can spend money on stupid things like nft's and the metaverse.

I rather spend $12000 on a photovoltaic system than on a Toyota Celica (or virtual stuff like virtual land, Star Citizen ships or NFTs).

Actually, I have. In 5 - 10 years it pays for itself by reduced energy costs.

There has to be some money laundering in all of this. No way so many people with so much money lose it all in this stuff.
