It'll be FFXIII... It won't be MGS4. The closest any MGS game has gotten to a million in Japan is 850k, and that was with the userbase of the PS2.

I'm going to boldly go against the "Final Fantasy XIII" grain and say Valkyria Chronicles will sell 1 million in Japan alone. That's right, folks, you heard it here first!...and then wisely ignored it.

Valkyria Chronicles will in no way sell that many copies. The usebase for the PS3 is small and the genre that the game is classified under is niche and not especially popular with the exception of Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem

 Thank you so much for crushing all of my hopes and dreams. I can only pray that one day, when all of your life's ambitions are about to be realized, someone comes along and cuts you down with just a few harsh, cruel words, dashing your very purpose in life.

By which I mean I was kidding, and think the PS3 will have to wait for Final Fantasy, if that. But I do enjoy the look of Valkyria Chronicles, and will be somewhat saddened when it fails to do all that well. Maybe next time.

Probably after the PS3 sells a couple million more consoles in Japan, if it ever does.

Probably a really bad title that only has "brand name appeal" in Japan and not much appeal anywhere else.

Examples:
- Monster Hunter (it's a decent game series, but the series doesn't innovate and sticks to the tried and true)

- Gundam: Well it's a gundam game, and Crossfire was the best selling launch title there

- Naruto: Again, just because it's Naruto attached

There's a few more but I can't think of them right now. If none of them do it, it'll be FFXIII.

Metal Gear Solid 4, although it'll take a month or two.

Bring up the past games sales all you want, it doesn't really matter.
This game is being hyped more than any of the previous installments, it has a special edition PS3 Hardware Bundle as well as a traditional bundle, and it'll be the first big PS3 game in Japan in quite some time.

Albeit, it won't blow past the million mark, if you're looking for that kind of success, Final Fantasy XIII will be your best, and earliest, bet.
