Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu Sales: Week 26, 2022 (Jun 20 - Jun 26)

So the Switch does just under 2.2 million for the first half of this year which is very impressive for a system this old. Now to see if it'll end up in the 4-4.5m range or 4.5-5m range. Also I wish Nirvana Initiative did better but at least it charted.

Around the Network

Similar to my earlier posts, I will compare average weekly sales of the Switch again. I will also compare it to my last update.

Week 26 (vs Week 21)

2022: 82k (-9k)
2021: 115k (-9k)
2020: 102k (-6k)
2019: 57k (-5k)
2018: 45k (-0)
2017: 58k (-10k)

2017: 40k (-2k) Launch week spread out into 9 weeks.

Last time I didn't do proper weekly sales of the Switch for 2017 and divided it by the same number of weeks as the other years due to launch week. I noted down both for comparisons sake this time.

To analyze the new numbers, I do have to note that 2022 is dropping as hard as 2021 did, but 2021 came from a much higher amount of sales. The weekly average sales are currently weaker than 2019s CY weekly average sales, so the Switch will have to minimize the dropoff with Splatoon 3 and rise up high during the holidays to beat 2019s numbers.

I think they have an OLED Lite waiting to be released, to boost sales

Honestly, it really doesn't help that Chunsoft doesn't try to push Team Zero Escape more towards different shows and such. I was honestly baffled that we haven't seen the game in any type of Direct/State of Play, etc ...

Seemed like the communication was mostly done on Twitter.

There are probably a lot of people who would really like it but don't know it exists. I imagine a lot of Danganronpa fans fall into that category.
