It was, and yeah early on in that generation Xbox made a strong push to try to grow their audience in Japan, with exclusives like Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, and Tales of Vesperia. (Though the last didn't stay exclusive)
With the Xbox One their marketshare there shrank to an insignificant level. Now with the Xbox Series it is growing again, though still small relative to PS/Nintendo.
