I like SolidRev, he is an entertaining guy. I've been watching his content for years, but the guy has a clear bias with certain genres/styles of games. He is a dudebro for the most part. Anything that isn't some hardcore action game, gritty shooter, racing, he is going to dismiss it entirely. It's his opinion which is fine, and he makes it clear that it's his opinion. If you agree with his taste in games then cool, but most of us on a gaming forum enjoy more diversity than he does. If I want to know if Calisto Protocol is good, if the newest CoD is trash or not, or if a new piece of hardware is good, I'll watch his video. I would never share one of his videos to try and validate if something is good or not lol.

Not true. He liked death stranding and kena. He is open to trying different genres.  He might give an initial reaction, but it's just that.

Those are action-adventure games which I mentioned. Usually more obscure indie games he avoids and genres like puzzle, platformer, JRPG, etc.

Around the Network

I thought the show was good. Could have had more big name games, but that's a small complaint, and one I can excuse given the pandemic and the world we are in. They showed Starfield, Redfall, Forza Motorsports, and Plague Tale. Plus lots of great looking smaller games.

For anyone to say it was disappointing let alone the "worst Xbox show ever", their expectations are way out of whack.

He's not as open to as many games as the type of users are here no, in general I agree, but he's just as negative about the Sony state of play's or presentations if he think's they were weak or garbage. I believe he even says the recent Sony showing was decent, but that prior to that every Sony state of play he found to be terrible.

He tends to be reasonable most of the time in terms of giving something a chance if it looks like it has promise, even if it's not his go to genre's, though he can crap on something only to find out later it turned out to be pretty decent. That happens to us all sometimes, and he does admit when he was wrong about something.

Again it's his boy who's the big XB fan and he's the one who really wasn't impressed at all, which Solidrev was a bit surprised.

The video title was also a little click baity. If you've seen him trash something, he goes hard, and he wasn't like that throughout the vid. Too many people taking the title too heart. It's the context behind it that matters. Yet nobody likes click bait period, so he should've gave it a less harsh title based on the video.

Anybody catch that second show case? I could not get throw half of it withoud dosing off. Dint finish it. Was there anything of sunstance on it?

I had it on in the background while doing other stuff and if they were talking about games I was interested in I tuned in for that.  They announced a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game but I don't think there were any other new announcements.  My daughter was desperate for Slime Rancher 2 info and at least that was there.  I was hoping for info about Somerville or Atomic Heart but I don't think either appeared.

It ended with a heart-wrenching video about the STALKER 2 devs and that the game was delayed to 2023 (at least).
