Forums - Nintendo - Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet | Second Trailer | Launches November 18th

Pokémon is not my cup of tea, but if it was, this does look a lot more appealing and interesting than Sword and Shield.
Improvement is always nice to see.

I actually like all the new designs they've shown so far and I dunno, I don't think what they showed of the environments looked bad. Also, I hope there's a way to play the main campaign in a higher difficulty level than the standard.

Also, the professors are hot

The graphics have finally reached the bare minimum standard for an HD system. Human models look decent and aren't an eyesore, and the textures aren't a blurry mess, though they don't hold up when the camera is really close to the ground. It looks like the wide vista shots might finally be pretty.

Leaving the bad graphics topic aside, Im actually liking the design of the few new mons that have been revealed, even the legendaries.
The human characters tho? Eh. Not so much.
But calling a pig pokemon "Lechonk" is peak big brain time.

Meanwhile, for the first time in what feels like an eternity, I saw human characters in a Pokémon game that just looked like normal characters, instead of trying to become the next Twitter waifu.

But thats the thing tho, I feel professor Sada is exactly that kind of character based on her design alone

At this point asking for a better graphics for Pokemon is like asking for a decent music from Nickelback. Just enjoy the game just like you enjoy Nickee..... yeah this is a bad analogy.

yay marijuana cat!

When you think about it, aren't all cats marijuana cats?

Touché

Visually looks like an eyesore.

Gamefreak really needs to invest in it's engine technology instead of trying to push out a new game every year.

The visuals are bad as usual and I dislike the character models this time but co-op is a great addition. I can see this becoming many people's favourite game in the series based on that feature alone.

It does look a lot nicer than Sword and Shield or Legends Arceus, I'll give it that.

I think the main thing that lets it down a bit are the textures; for some bizarre reason, despite developing on a system with 3.2GB of usable RAM, Gamefreak still use Wii/original Xbox level ground textures.

The lighting though is a big improvement and it finally has the general "look" of a Switch game as opposed to an early PS3/360 title. Just not a high end Switch game.

I think this is the first time I have ever seen a 2nd version getting more preorders/sales than a first version. I definitely seem to remember Brilliant Diamond, Sword, Sun, Alpha Sapphire, X, and Black all selling better than their respective counterparts, but this time Violet is leading in preorders, at least on Amazon US. Violet does seem like the superior version though, the legendary is better, the professor is better, and the player character default outfit is slightly better.

Are you sure about Alpha Sapphire ? I'm pretty sure Omega Ruby is the leading version in sales ...

Though you seem to be right for Violet's preferance over the Scarlett version. I do prefer it's Legendary as well and we'll be doing my first playthrough on this version

Omega Ruby is the first version too.
