System Units Sold
Xbox 360 1,616,128
OG Xbox    472,992
Xbox Series X|S    157,063
Xbox One    142,024

Where did you get that Xbox One number from? Famitsu has it much lower.

I took it from the article here that says according to Famitsu. I didn't double check it. Is the lowest selling xbox in Japan and it has been surpassed already so it does'nt matter much.

Edit: article link: https://www.vgchartz.com/article/452771/xbox-consoles-have-sold-235-million-units-in-japan/

The last time that famitsu gave Xbox One numbers was week 51 2020 and it was at 114.802 units.

It appears to be a Vgchartz typo. Because they say different numbers from their own source.

Well they proved me wrong. I predicted Playstation wouldn't get 7 SKUs in the top 30 this year and they actually did it. Back in 2020, I didn't think about them releasing several of their best titles back-to-back in February and March.

In spite of all this, I think my overall point still stands. Third party Japanese games are gradually shifting away from Playstation and onto Switch. It's becoming more and more clear that Switch is the platform where the money is for Japanese third party games.

PS5 sales of Horizon are dropping faster than its PS4 counterpart (which already started higher). I wonder if any cross-gen game is gonna have higher sales on PS5 in Japan. Maybe God of War: Ragnarok since it's further away.

Edit: Weird title of the week goes to Killer and Strawberry Plus

Signature goes here!

It’s kinda sad that KoF XV is not getting much traction in Japan. Granted, most fighting games outside of Smash don’t gain as much traction in Japan as they used to do in past gens. Not sure if sales in the West will make up more than enough for the game to be considered successful. It looks like a step up from XIV.

Switch OLED model sales are almost half of last week's sales. I expect stock issues.

I still don't get this (stubborn) certainty.

Since the last dissucion in this thread (not particular with you) not much has changed except PS stock went a bit up so sales increased. Atlus announcing a new game that isn't on switch while people the last time could not get enough pointing out that devs are shifting because.. well atlus made SMT on Switch. Capcom announcing a new SF that rumored to be certainly on PS.

This + the information that Sony probably going to get some studios in Japan could impact the so called shift.

This week is a very good week for Playstation.  Next week will probably also be a good week for them.

On the other hand they also have weeks where they get 0 titles charting in the top 30.  There have been several weeks both last year and this year where Switch has had all 30 titles in Famitsu top 30.  Usually, about 1/2 of those titles are Switch third party games.  A more average week has 26-29 Switch titles in the top 30, and again usually about 1/2 are third party titles.

We are already there.  Switch third party sales already dominate Playstation third party sales in Japan by a huge margin.  Considering how obvious it is that the money is on the Switch, most Japanese third party games will end up on the Switch.  It's already happening, and it's going to keep trending that way even more.
