It's crazy how the Russian losses keep rising every year. If this continues then the losses will quickly become unbearable even for Russia.

As for Slovakia, EU accession would already be a good first step. From there, we'll have to wait for Fico to step aside in a future election, and that path would be open again.

The US presidential election is probably a limiting factor for Russia. If Harris wins, the chances are that it'll be four more years of (relatively) strong support to Ukraine, and if Trump wins, well, if Trump keeps his promises, Russia will probably have to settle with what they have. That, and I doubt Russia's economy can sustain the war forever either. At this rate, Ukraine can probably win in a few years if they can restrict Russia to minimal advances, because Russian economy was actually pretty terrible for the size of the country to start with.

Ok, so I see Shave just got banned for a week. Apparently for flaming. Do I have it right? Ryuu, did he deserve this? I don't know, I've got bigger things going on in my life in this month of October, so the Russia-Ukraine War has to take a back seat for now.

Trump would probably invite Putin to Mar-a-Lago without Zelenskyy to discuss how they're going to end the war on terms favourable to Russia.

Ahh, so if Trump wins, Orban will continue to block EU aid to Ukraine and Trump will block military aid to Ukraine, if Trump loses then Orban will cave under the pressure of being alone, got it. So basically, Orban and Trump are coordinating for Ukraine's defeat.

A new book from legendary Watergate journalist Bob Woodward reveals that former President Donald Trump in 2020 sent Russian President Vladimir Putin a secret stash of COVID-19 tests during the early days of the deadly pandemic that would go on to kill more than one million Americans. CNN reports that Woodward's new book, entitled "War," claims that Trump "secretly sent Putin a bunch of Abbott Point of Care Covid test machines for his personal use."

What's more, writes Woodward, Putin urged Trump not to boast publicly about sending such equipment to him.

"Please don't tell anybody you sent these to me," Putin said, according to Woodward's sources.

"I don't care," Trump said in response. "Fine."

"No, no," Putin said. "I don't want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me. They don't care about me."

And that's not all -- according to one of Woodward's sources, Trump kept in frequent contact with the former Russian president after leaving office. "According to Trump's aide, there have been multiple phone calls between Trump and Putin, maybe as many as seven in the period since Trump left the White House in 2021," Woodward writes.

Apparently, the EU is looking for a way to circumvent it through some other payment system that only needs a qualified majority, so Hungary can't block it
