Not sure how much they have left before September 30th wipes it out but I would assume it's a lot more than $325m. In addition they've requested another $24bn in aid already for after September 30th. My pathetic reaction is that yeah, it's a pitiful amount, especially on Zelenskyy's visit to the USA and it's also pathetic that ATACMS are still not being sent.

Yes, it seems low, but in reality, IDK. There are many things to consider

  • $5B may seem a lot to dispose of but it must also be used wisely so that they can react more swiftly to a change in condition on the field that may bring a change in equipment requirement to provide.
  • Ukraine also has a certain capacity to use ammunition in X amount of time, provide them too much at any 1 time and it'll cause more to be stored in temporary depots waiting for a Russian missile to blow it all up.
  • Announcing bigger package are sometime more akin to PR move as they are being rolled out in batches over many months and provide Russia with intel on what to expect for something that could have simply been announced with multiples smaller package like this one.

I would certainly like to see more being provided, but it's very hard to judge what's enough and what isn't.  

Also, it's not clear whether the remaining amount auto rolls over for the next year and how likely they'll get the full new 24B after September 30.
