The decision has been made: Germany will deliver Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine. According to SPIEGEL information, it is about at least one company Leopard 2A6.

Other allies, including from Scandinavia, also want to deliver Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine. The German government wants to grant permission to export such tanks that are owned by other states such as Poland.

The "Wall Street Journal" had reported on Tuesday afternoon that in the United States, the delivery of Abrams battle tanks in not inconsiderable numbers is being considered. In France, too, there is the consideration of supplying battle tanks to Ukraine.

The German decision was apparently preceded by intensive consultations over several days with the allies, especially in Washington. Scholz had always emphasized that he wanted to deliver battle tanks only in conjunction with other nations such as the USA.

According to SPIEGEL information, the German Leopard tanks are to come from Bundeswehr stocks. In the medium to long term, further battle tanks from industrial stocks could be prepared for use.

Shame we won't see Abrams on the frontlines, I'd expect they'd stick them around Lviv - Kyiv but one plus side is that Belarus will have dozens of Abrams pointed towards them, that is further encouragement for Lukashenko to stay the fuck out of Ukraine.

Yeah, sucks that Abrams aren't really usable on the front line it seems but they can free up some of Ukraine's tanks deployed on the border to Belarus, in Kyiv and so on... I guess it will also boost the morale of those who will get them and won't push the morale of Russians^^

Looks like a Russia's stooge to me. We had/have plenty of those, including our ex-president. Hope this latest news is true and he finally took his head out of his ass. This has been damaging to Germany's reputation.

Just saw this, maybe this explains why that Hungarian fellow though only US wants to support Ukraine. I can only speak for Finland here, but this is a flat out lie. Every survey says over 90% of people here want more sanctions to Russia even if it means higher energy etc prices and more support to Ukraine.

I also want the war to end but that doesn't mean I'm against supporting Ukraine with weaponry until Russia will end the war. Not sure how exactly they asked people if they really asked them but I'm pretty sure people don't want to stop supporting Ukraine with weaponry or that they want Ukraine to forget some of their land even if they want peace talks.
