Ukraine completes final tests of strike drone built to resist Russian jamming
Russia has used electronic warfare quite efficiently to mitigate the threat posed by Ukrainian suicide drones.

This will be a big help because much of the Russian EW is preventing the drones from finding targets, especially on the front lines. Many Russian tanks have these cheap EW jamming pods that are constantly running. So, getting past them will help the drones "batting average" so that more hits will take place for the drones being sent out.

Heavy losses for the Russian army! Ukrainians launched a powerful counteroffensive near Pokrovsk and Dobropilya
In this area, Ukrainian troops have liberated seven settlements, and nine more have been cleared of Russian fighters

Counteroffensive reported, and the other sources that i've looked at say that there have been many russian casualties. A YT video shows that many russians have just given up and surrendered. It's like that scene in LOTR when the riders of Rohan come and slaughter the orcs.

Nothing against you posting this but isn't this supposed to be posted in the US politics thread instead?

I got threadbanned because the fibers have deemed my discussions on terrorism to be racist. So I post it here and will at least have some views. Ryuu doesn't seem to mind that so that's where we are with this.

I think I'd much rather have US politics posts be where they belong. There's a reason I rarely go there, and that's me picking when and how much I'm interested in US politics. If you got thread-banned, tough luck. I don't mind Trump news when they have relevancy to the war, but this doesn't.

The commentary on Trump is very much relevant, even if it may not appear so at first, because Trump has long denied support for Ukraine because of his long ties with Russia.  So, me going on about trump's dementia or whatever may not see relevant.  However the meta message that i'm trying to make is that his time in office won't be very long, and then Vance may be more likely to help Ukraine.

Thanks for understanding, hope you have a good day and are in good cheer.

Personally, I’m with Zkuq on this. This thread doesn't need devolving into a list of “Orange man good/bad" news stories. It gets tiresome fast - especially when the relevance of said news feels like a stretch, even under a charitable interpretation. I’m sure whatever is going on between, Kimmel, the FCC and Trump for instance is fascinating for people invested in US politics, but I doubt it ranks very high on the Ukrainian population’s list of concerns when they’re being hit by missiles on a regular basis. The linked article(s) don't even mention the word Ukraine in them. It's nice that the news was shared, but it belongs in the US Politics thread.

Alright well perhaps I'll create a thread just for trump news since I'm permabanned from the US politics thread. I think that it would be nice if the people who rarely contribute to this thread would perhaps contribute more, bc what is the point of asking for something you'd like to a place you don't really even go anymore?

I don't mind the dementia news, I think they're relevant enough (of course that's just my opinion). It just feels like you're shoehorning other Trump news here too, which is what I'm not as fond of. And don't get me wrong, I think Trump is awful in so many ways, so I feel like we have some common ground for sure, but there's been some Trump stuff here that doesn't belong.

Getting back to Ukraine and I guess more like the situation surrounding it, Russia violated the airspace of Estonia with three fighter jets for 12 minutes on Friday. I'm guessing Russia wasn't exactly convinced of our response to the drones in Poland, so now they're encouraged to try something new. I hope we're able to set limits appropriately, but so far our response is looking weak (as expected, sadly).
