🇺🇦🇪🇺 Zelensky: The EU sanctions package will be and it will be strong. There are appropriate dates and agreements.

Two people briefed on the call with the European leaders and Zelensky said Trump was clear he'd pull the US back from engaging with the war and leave Ukraine and Russia to directly negotiate. He also made no promise of future US sanctions against Russia... www.ft.com/content/59f2...

EU leaders are worried Trump’s stepping back from Ukraine peace efforts — and letting Putin call the shots. After calls with both leaders, Trump said Russia & Ukraine will "immediately start negotiations,” but one EU official said it’s clear he’s “not ready to put greater pressure” on Moscow.

🇺🇸❌ The US is unlikely to impose new sanctions against Russia at this time, - The Times.

During conversation with Putin, Trump maintained a soft position, instead of the promised "tough" sanctions, he described the conversation as "great" and called Russia a country with "great trade potential".

Time for the EU to delay things another 20 months in the hopes they can talk Trump over. This time, attempt number 2000 will surely work! Or maybe EU needs to stop acting like a bitch and step the fuck up and start soloing this shit because clearly America is either compromised or emotionally incapable of standing up to Putin.

🥴 Ushakov: The presidents of Russia and the United States addressed each other by name: Donald and Vladimir, and neither of them wanted to hang up first during a telephone conversation.

According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, Trump and Putin didn’t discuss any timeline for a possible ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine during their recent call.

In addition, the conversation also focused on a potential 9-for-9 prisoner swap between the US and Russia.

Lmfao.

So it was less than nothing really, just a phone call to say how great each other are and they should do trade deals when this is all over bestie.

🤡 Ushakov: The leaders discussed the state of relations between Russia and the US, and spoke in favor of their further normalization.

▪️Trump sees Russia as one of the most important partners of the US.

▪️Putin and Trump agreed to continue dialogue on all issues, including Ukraine.

Most important partners of the USA...

Russia isn't even in the top 20 of most important partners of the USA.

Only in the minds of a Russian asset would a statement like that make any sense.

🇺🇸 Trump: "The war in Ukraine should've remained Europe’s problem — the U.S. shouldn't have intervened."
He says if there's no real progress, the U.S. will hand over the lead role in resolving the conflict to Europe — though he's also open to increasing arms supplies if needed.

😂😂😂

So much for "Ceasefire in 24 hours" and "I'll get a ceasefire because Putin respects me" and "Putin stop, or else!" and "If Putin doesn't stop, then they'll be bad consequences!" to "Sanctions on Russia if there's not a ceasefire!" now we're at the stage of "I didn't try anything, I was too scared to pressure Russia at all, I didn't enforce any of my threats, if there's no ceasefire, America is leaving"

🇺🇸‼️ Trump: I think Putin’s had enough. I believe Putin wants to stop.

▪️I have a red line in my head on when I’ll stop pushing on Russia-Ukraine. I won’t say what that red line is.

▪️The war in Ukraine is not my war – I’m just trying to help.

Same Putin who has rejected all your pushed ceasefire proposals, ignored your attempts for months, immediately broke a separate watered down ceasefire, threw missiles at children during these attempts, and completely shrugged off all your threats.

🤔 Trump said he would be ready to say in 2-4 weeks whether Ukraine is doing enough to resolve the conflict.

Ukraine? Ukraine?????

— MAKS 24 👀🇺🇦 (@maks23.bsky.social) 19 May 2025 at 22:36

Ah there it is.

"I am incapable of standing up against Putin because I'm either a Russian asset or he scares me, so now back to blaming Ukraine for Russia rejecting a ceasefire and blaming Ukraine for not surrendering all their territory to Russia"

Only got to cross the Dnieper River again to take Kherson City and to take Kharkiv meaning to take the 2nd largest city in Ukraine which would be the biggest capture Russia has done in Ukraine since the start of the full scale invasion, sounds like a simple task! And to achieve this in 7 months. Putin is utterly delusional. We'll soon see 2m deaths if they make a move on Kherson and Kharkiv in 2025.

no way in hell

Or Europe can just virtue single they are the good guys, by doing as little as possible and not start world war 3. Aside from direct military intervention I don't see any way Europe stopping this shit. Even if Russian troops are kicked out of Russia, Russia could easily rain down missiles on Ukraine and Europe from Russia itself. And I doubt Putin takes kindly to European jets entering Russian airspace.

There's just not enough who sign up to military service in Europe.

Case in point: Here in Luxembourg I hear the the ads for the Army almost on a daily basis, but we still only have about 1000 soldiers total. Without enough soldiers there's not much Europe can do directly.

That being said, I would have suggested a loophole: Trump wants military spending to go up to 5% GDP? Okay, let's do it, spend a lot on new equipment... and send that one directly to Ukraine! There's not enough soldiers to man the new equipment anyway, so why bother putting them into storage, just make good use of it!
