Forums - Sales Discussion - The Road to 160m+ for Nintendo Switch

What are the odds that if Switch does manage to hit 160M, that Nin announces that, but then never says another word about future Switch sales, so nobody ever knows if Switch or PS2 sales were the highest ever, leading everyone to basically call it a tie?

Oh hell no!  Tiebreaker: Put the CEOs of each company in a ring and let them fight to the death.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

But Phil wants everyone to play nicely together. Please don't make them fight. Please!

I could however be swayed if it's done in VR perhaps.

We already know who has the better trained CEOs:

Phil is not the CEO of either Playstation or Nintendo so he wouldn't be fighting.  He could be the ref.

I meant to say them not him. You got to my reply before I changed it. But yes, this would be popcorn worthy.

During the Switch2 Direct, Nintendo only compared Switch2 to the OG Switch, not the OLED.

Also during the game sharing section only the OG and Lite were shown. The OLED was not mentioned or shown ones during the presentation.

This lets me believe the OLED will be dropped from the line up and the OG and Lite will continue to ship/sell eventhough the OLED was the most sold model the last 2 years.

The mere suggestion that modern Nintendo doesn't understand the market better than anyone and can't improve on previous outings is genuinely laughable.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Q. Did Nintendo blow away all your expectations with Switch 1?
A. Yes.

Did you think Switch 1 was overpriced at launch?
A. Yes.

Wake up sheeple.

Nintendo is actually the company that reports their console shipping numbers very meticulously, even to the very end of a console lifecycle. As long as they ship at least 10k, it will be in the quaterly and fiscal year-end report. On top of it, they always update their total sales number on their "Dedicated Video Game Sales Units" homepage. If the Switch reaches 161 mil the ball will be in Sony's camp to react. If Sony doesn't react, Switch will be the declared winner!

Sony would probably hire Indiana Jones to find them another mil PS2s somewhere just to keep the record at this point. I doubt Nintendo are even paying attention.
