Forums - Sales - The Road to 160m+ for Nintendo Switch (EDIT: See mod note in first post for new rule).

Impressive! I think everyone was surprised by the recent shipment number. The Switch is already on the 157 number, just three more steps on the ladder and it reaches the 160 mark. I wanna see the reaper picture being updated!

The really surprising thing is how much they shipped in latin America.

Americas out shipped Japan, Europe, other combined.

The yoy drop has been extremely slower there.

Vgc sales, before the slight adjustment up, were indicating that shipments will be  550k+ and were showing an increase in sales somewhere in the row.

Oddly enough, Nintendo didn't increase the target, unless they intend to impress by exceeding it, and usually is the other way around.

Also, the mystery of how they will handle Europe market before the mandatory discontinuation... Are the recently released discounted bundles clearance or not, both lite one and og? 1.27m before holidays with an aim of 2m is strange. Do they plan to be flat in the quarter when sales skyrocket? Plus Indonesian launch. Will they ship just 190k more  to bring it to 158m, they still surpass the aim that way , even without shipping no units in Europe in the final fiscal quarter. Did they overship in Japan? Because sales trend were leading to the anticipation of 90-100k and it was 120k.

So, let's still be somewhat reserved (I mean for where it will stand by the end of the year) .

Fingers crossed that my wet dream for 2.5m comes true.

That's what I was expecting before they set the forecast of 2m.

Who would have thought that latin America would be the driver  in sales for a Nintendo console.

Finally, Nintendo expanded there efficiently.

Bizarrely oled remains the most popular part of the family.

Around the Network

Getting as much as possible Switch1 in Europe now makes sense. Even heavily discounted, they do not need to protect its price point anymore. The more consoles the more future software sales. That's were the real money is made.

Damn it's gonna land right in no man's land isn't it?
