Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How is MS' Activision purchase going to affect the european market?

Tagged games:

Considering how dominant Sony is, and how the sales in Europe move around the big multiplats, taking one of them and making it exclusive is definitively going to push the XBox way more that it has ever been done before. Will Sony keep their big advantage over there? Will they still lead, but only slightly?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I don't think Acti-Blizz is enough to break Sony's Europe stronghold overall. Xbox might reclaim the UK throne they once held with Xbox 360 between the Acti-Blizz and Zenimax acquisitions, and there is an even bigger chance that they reclaim their US throne, but mainland Europe? Xbox will need to acquire even more to break that Sony stronghold.

what does activision have that is even any good? cant think of the last time i played a good quality activision game

Depends on what games the European market likes. If the European market likes Call of Duty and other activision games mainly, then it might affect them hugely once MS makes those games exclusive to Xbox. If the European market doesn't care much about call of duty and such, then it's not a big deal.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Guitar hero, Tony hawk, crash, and spyro are irrelevant in 2022. Call of duty can still bring in money, but not like it used to. I don't think candy crush has much more life in it. Not sure on the status on wow. So I think your post proves my point. They definitely sold high.

More interested to see what happens to COD.
Vanguard is already not selling well.
If it didn't have PS to tell it outside of the US I can absolutely see it massively bombing.

Better chance of them just not getting it than getting an entire console just for it. Could see an increase in PC sales if the prices settle down enough that people want to buy one again.

You are bound to love Earthbound.

He recited this list as if this stuff has the same weight as Mario, zelda, smash bros, Mario kart, animal crossing, and pokemon lol

Call of Duty is huge in Europe and Game Pass is becoming more popular so of course it'll help to push Xbox consoles here.
