Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony to launch PSP with rebranding of PSN + (PS CLOUD) : PREDICTION

Will Sony relaunch psCloud with PSP?!

Yes this makes great sense 2 8.33%

Prediction:

https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/sony-is-planning-a-playstation-mobile-controller-patent-suggests/amp/

the above patent was filed last year, and with rumors of Sony relaunching PSNOW with a premium version of PS PLUS while adding:

PSone

PSP

PS vita

games to the service, I have a SUMMARIZED prediction:

sony will relaunch ps plus and ps now with a new name. Relaunching the PSP as well. They will release ps cloud as an app add on with an official PSP controller attachment that will work with IOS AND ANDROID. This will be the new PSP. And will track psCloud subs instead of just ps plus. In fact I have a feeling bass ps plus prices will go up to $64.99 and premium ps cloud will launch for $69.99. I am expecting f the controller to launch for $129.99 and include 3 months of the new service.

I also expect an announcement later this month!

ps Cloud : $69.99 yearly

psp (attachment) : $129.99 (includes 3 months of ubmilited access to ps1,psp,ps2,ps3, ps vita, and PS4 games as well as access to ps5 remote play. )

any opinions?

They already did this in the past, didn't work

Hope you are right. Would be good to have PS portable again even though I don't really play portable anymore.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I think Sony will keep the PS Plus branding, but they will add two new tiers, IE. PS+ Diamond/ PS+ Platinum:

PS+ for $60 with all the usual benefits
PS+ Diamond that's bundled with PS Now + expanded PS Collection for $120
PS+ Platinum that's bundled with a more extensive PS Now library (PS, PS2, PSP), select PS5 games that come Day One to the service (IE. Factions 2), longer demos, & PS+ Video Pass or similar perks for $150

I have doubts about the Playstation portable controller. I feel like most of Sony's mobile efforts will go towards mobile games, as in building a portfolio of mobile studios, headed by the recent hire of the former Apple Arcade boss.

PSP Go home you're drunk.

Why would they have patented the DualShock mobile controllers? Also the switch has the gaming handheld market all to itself atm, thus would be a response.

Maybe same reason they have the option to use smartphones or psp or psvita to play the games from the console via streaming =p Not necessarily mean a standalone launch.

Not gonna lie when I read the thread headline I thought this would be a very old thread with a prediction that didn't come true.

100% wont happen, but I would love to be so wrong. I loved my PSP Go.

With Sony exclusives coming to PC i guess you could call the SteamDeck the new PSP . Also can be called the Xbox Portable and Switch Pro xD .

Not really a Switch Pro, since I doubt emulation will make games look significantly better on the Steam Deck than on Switch. But it's definitely the closest thing we are getting to a modern PSP or Xbox Portable. Though I do hope Sony tries their hand at a PSP again. I loved the PSP, and the Vita was a nice piece of hardware (with a good launch window library...just died a bit early).
