Everything is on streaming now, having to buy hardware to play games is ancient

Around the Network

The biggest for me is the Dreamcast BUT, a close second is the GBA e-Reader.

It was an interesting concept, and me having been a huge Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and Digimon (specifically Tamers) fan at the time, got me super excited to have another card related product to collect, and Nintendo related at that! But it worked maybe half the time, and for the NES games, I think you had to have like 5 cards because the cards themselves could hold very little data. But it was a cool way to add some new content to other games. DLC before DLC if you will.

Obviously there would be no reason for this kind of product now, but it would've been great if the rough edges were smoothed out so it could've lasted a lot longer than it did.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

RE4 Wii's controls were awesome! Should have seen more of it.

How's latency on that?

Games like WipeOut and F-zero GX. Also wouldn't mind more games like Divinity. Perhaps neither are fully failed, but they aren't really successful either.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Cloud gaming deserves its failure. Fuck stadia. Taking ownership away and latency.

The fact that motion controls aren't widespread in all platforms is a shame. At least the Switch and VR systems are keeping it afloat, but considering how much the technology has advanced (and how affordable it is, unlike VR) makes me wish we'd have more motion control games, and not just motion aiming. So few big games based on motion controls...

I miss pointer controls more than motion controls. Aiming in Twilight Princess or Resident Evil 4 was so precise with the pointer, almost on par with mouse aiming (maybe even better for me).

And, at least for me, surely way more pleasant! Oh, how I miss Goldeneye 007 (Wii) long night runs of play.

While I do wish they were more widely adopted by Playstation and Xbox (it would definitely make me more inclined to buy their hardware) I don't think motion controls fall under a "failed" concept/idea given they are still widespread on the incredibly successful Switch, a system that's sold over 100 million, including in many of its best selling games, more than 15 years after the Wii brought them to the mainstream.

They're very much alive and well and here to stay.
