Anyone playing Project Zomboid here? The dev team Indie Stone has finally released a trailer for the game, it comes here:

That matches the biggest update they released so far, reenabling multiplayer on the 41 beta build, adding a new town Louisville to the map (you cannot spawn there, as it wasn't part of the original Knox event, the military made their checkpoint there, but it got overrun by zombies) and a new foraging and mapping system. All these additions are pretty neat. Current version is build 41.65, they had some rapid new releases the past days.

I usually can survive only one or two months, but maybe you do better. What is the story of how you died?

EDIT: The devs gave an outlook on their plans for 2022.

Seems there is no love for Zomboid on this site. Too bad.

Well, it looks bad, and are we done with Zombies yet?

Boo, judging the book by the covers. I agree though it doesn't look great. But that doesn't matter once you realize on how many levels and with how many systems you can interact with the world. Systemic games is a term that came up over the past years.

And well yes, Zombies. I don't care much, although I agree this is the optimal choice for this sort of game. Zombies are mostly (some movies make it different) a minor threat alone, but they become a problem because of their number. In a survival game a constant high adrenaline threat like in an action game would surely be annoying over time. A constant unnerving threat, not too much but enough to keep you on your toes all time, this matches a survival game pretty well.

I do wanna try this when it eventually leaves early access.

Seeing that is is since 2013 in early access, you might have to wait a little longer. And the devs are active, as I wrote, we just had before the holidays a really big update. I don't see that the devs have the intention to stop anytime soon, I think it is more a game which evolves constantly.

I saw it hit a new concurrent players peak today so it does seem like a good time to try it though I prefer playing things when they're fully content complete.

That is something that seems sensible. But I feel like the devs from indie stone will never be content and add more stuff. Also, this game isn't a linear game with a story, instead you create your own story by messing with the systems. So it doesn't mean you cannot have a full experience now, only later there may be more systems.

Is on sale on Steam right now at $10

I've clocked in about 2 hours on the game of actual playtime, more if you count mod searching.

Enjoying the game so far, my longest survival time was about 2 days before the undead broke into my house because a random alarm went off
