Forums - Nintendo - Why nintendo is regressing in quality

Nintendo peaked with the wii and specifically mario kart wii.

No additional courses for a fee within a month after launch and lets not forget the best rainbow road, if the next mario kart has a remake of the best incarnation of this legendary track it has a small chance.

but for now every RR since has been a massive letdown.

I will retract my statement if it also includes DK mountain

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Odd title, I probably would have put Mario Kart in the title. We only technically had one console Mario Kart since we got the same game on both the Wii U and Switch. I tend to agree that I liked the the Wii version a tad bit better but that might be more the fact I had more time to play multiplayer Mario Kart games at that time in my live, having people over to hang out and play. If you want to talk all Nintendo games than no BOTW is the best Zelda game, Odyssey is the best Mario game, 3 Houses is the best Fire Emblem, etc to me.

Mario Kart 7 had a really good Rainbow Road with awesome music. I liked it better than the RR in MK Wii.

I disagree. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is way better than Mario Kart Wii.
MK8 rainbow road is my favorite track!

I agree with the guy that said MK8. Its certainly not the hardest Rainbow Road track, but its the most enjoyable imo.
MK7's RR was good too.

Honestly, where is the next Mario Kart? The Switch only got Mario Kart 8 which was on the wiiU! Where's the switch one at?

Peaked???

BotW = best zelda game
Odyssey = superb
Mario Kart 8 = best Mario Kart game
Smash = best smash to date
Three Houses = best FE to date

So, um no.

Mario Kart Wii is utter dogshit. With the exception of Mario Kart DS, The series became mediocre starting with Double Dash, and didn't become great again until MK8. Wii is an unbalanced mess.

Can't say that I agree, with the title or the post.

Basically every mainline game has been absolutely fantastic on the Switch and MK8 Deluxe is by far my most played Mario Kart. The actual controls/gameplay is incredibly smooth. The only thing lacking is some sort of challenge mode, they really need to expand beyond simple cups and time trials again.

I'm still hoping they make some sort of spiritual sequel to Diddy Kong Racing. The power-up system, different vehicle types, coin/key challenges, free roaming world map and boss races were all great, and it baffles me that they never revisited that style. So many great ideas to build upon.
