Forums - Gaming - Rumour: Persona 3 Remaster

So apparently a guy who leaked a Persona 4 Arena Ultimax remaster that just got confirmed has now said 2 days ago that Persona 3 is getting a remaster and will be multi-platform. Specifically the Persona 3 Portable version of the game, not sure why they chose that over FES but perhaps some of the content from FES could be added to the remaster.

We know a huge amount of projects and announcements are lined up for the Persona franchise since the 25th anniversary celebrations began. 5 more announcements are scheduled to come in this celebration, with the next being announced February 2022 and the last being announced Autumn 2022 (the last is no doubt Persona 6). So regardless of if you deem this leaker to have any credibility I think a Persona 3 remaster is on the cards anyway.

P3 Portable is the one with the female protagonist, right? That's probably why.

It would make sense. Persona 4 Golden was a hit, so why not try the same thing with Persona 3? The one thing I'm wondering is if they'll deliver it on the Switch this time. P4G and P5 weren't, so it'd be interesting if they'll skip it again.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

It also has the most watered down experience despite having more content.  This is due to the portable version having a lot of menu based exploration in places where the PS2 offered traditional gameplay (likely due to PSP limitations).

I would rather see a remaster of the PS2 version that had the PSP content, and the ability to control the entire party TBH (the original PS2 version has CPU teammates and you only control MC).  Unfortunately even with minimal visual upgrades, Atlus still may not see it as worth the effort.

Honestly I loved both FES and P3P so I'm good with either version.

Atlus is probably the most unpredictable dev I have ever seen. From PS exclusive and then PC exclusive of a former PS Vita exclusive to a Switch exclusive and then a multiplat for three platforms and no Xbox sku. I have given up trying to understand them.

If it gets us one step closer to P4G on Switch and P5R on Switch and PC, then I'm all for it!

I hope so. I got P3P on the Vita Store when it looked like the store was going to close. Still haven't gotten around to it ever and waiting on this potentially. But if it's pretty clear within the next few months to a year that we're not getting a Persona 3 port or remaster, I'll just play it on Vita.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I hope so. I never played Persona 3 and wanted to get it on PSP but the prices are just stupid.

Don't forget Shin Megami Tensei Nine is still an Original Xbox exclusive.
