Forums - Gaming - What is YOUR GOTY in 2021?

Metroid Dread would be my top pick with Tales of Arise and Resident Evil Village as runner-ups.

I would think most of us haven't played enough of the top 2021 games to make that call. I would have to play It take two; Kena; Ratchet and Clank ; Deathloop; Metroid Dread before really making that call.

But the biggest surprise and my highest rated game that I did play in 2021 was Forza Horizon 5. This game was amazing and I wind up putting more then 50 hours and had me capture all of November 2021. I never played much or got capture by Forza Horizon 4, so I was surprise how much I loved Forza Horizon 5.

In my own typical fashion, I've bought quite a few games that have released this year and not played them yet

And you never will.

You went from stalking this man on discord to VGC. Unreal. Ya hate to see it.

OT: Game of the year is Forza Horizon 5. Call of duty of racing games, but fuck it. Shit is fire.

I'm aware there are a lot of games released in 2021, but man i felt like i was disappointed however, games i owned and loved it so much.

Shin Megami Tensei V
Metroid Dread
Lost Judgment
Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy
Halo Infinite
Psychonauts 2

I think my GOTY in 2021 is Metroid Dread, i was dreadfully tired of hearing rumors for years lol

I liked 2020 better than 2021 thanks to a really strong PS4 lineup last year.
If we're talking about a game released in 2021 (but originally released in Japan in 2020), Persona 5 Strikers is the best. I'm not exaggerating when I say I love it almost as much as Persona 5 Royal.
I can't think of any WW 2021 new release that is the GOTY. Haven't played more than a round of Mario Party Superstars yet but it's really fun.

1 - Returnal, without a doubt.

2 - Monster Hunter rise

3 - Demon souls

4 - Resident evil village

5 - Scarlet Nexus

Halo Infinite has been the stand out for me this year.

Deathloop was my number one game. Kept me engaged throughout and loved every minute of it.
Ratchet And Clank was 2nd and the most beautiful game I've ever played.
Metroid was 3rd just love the are style and the fun that only Nintendo can give us.
Psychonauts is 4th I played it on gamepass on my old Xbox One S and it was great, I'm sure it would have been even better on ps5/Xbox series X.

I haven't played Tales of Arise, Resident Evil Village or Kena yet, will probably get those as Christmas gifts in a few weeks.

The best game I played through this year was a tie between Yakuza 0 and Like a Dragon but obviously those didn't come out this year. One of my new favorite series now.

Yeah, it might have been a bonus bit of content to help sell a port of a game, but it was the most fun I had playing a game this year.
