Hmm, what did I say that was wrong? If so, I'm sorry.

But you can't play this game with Game Pass, can you? And it went on sale on November 11 for $50. Are you assuming that every gamer who buys the Anniversary Edition already owns Skyrim?

Skyrim Anniversary Edition is just DLC for Skyrim Special Edition. The PS5/XSX performance of Skyrim Special Edition is identical to Skyrim Anniversary Edition, so your video in OP applies to both.

Maybe easier way to look at it:

For people who don't own Skyrim: $50 = Skyrim Special Edition + Anniversary Upgrade.

For people who own Skyrim: $20 = Anniversary Upgrade.

For people who own Skyrim: $0 = Skyrim Special Edition next-gen performance update for PS5/XSX.

Owners of Skyrim Special Edition and Gamepass Subscribers get the PS5/XSX upgrades for free, they can pay $20 for the Anniversary Upgrade DLC.

As this thread is about performance the added content of Anniversary isn't relevant. Special Edition and Anniversary Edition perform identical.

Skyrim Special Edition (PS5/XSX) released the same day as Skyrim Anniversary Edition (PS5/XSX) so that is why it confuses people a lot. Anniversary is just some extra quests and items.

Okay, I guess I didn't know the difference in price between Anniversary Edition and Special Edition. Sorry about that.

What does that have to do with game performance? Both are $50.

Well if you cant see what that has to do with anything the is no help for this thread, but clearly 2 sec difference in loading is such a big deal....

You may be trying to be sarcastic, but you told me the truth.

It kind of doesn't matter if it is an "FPS boost" version, it's comparing the performance of it on PS5 VS XSX. That detail has no effect on the results.

But it's not BC FPS Boost. It's a gen9aware title like FH4 and several other Xbox series versions of games. This means it can have its own settings and unique code for Series consoles. It's not FPS boost, it is optimized for series.

Just means the Xbox one and Xbox series versions share the same files and build, but the game can adjust its settings and code accordingly to the system it is being played on.

Can we just talk about how this game is rather embarrassing as an upgrade overall?

These consoles have 32 times the amount of RAM with 20 times the bandwidth as the 360 and PS3. The CPU's are vastly more powerful, and the GPU's are probably 50x as powerful as the consoles they originally came on....and they still aren't a locked 60FPS. Just...wow.

Which is odd, since in my 130 hours of playing Skyrim on PSVR I didn't notice a single frame drop. I did just look like the ps3 version though with all the same bugs. Still had to glitch through a broken door doh.

Do either of these allow mods?

The Xbox One version of Skyrim SE did. I don't see any reason why they would take the feature away (but anything is possible). I really enjoyed screwing with the game. It was my first experience with modding.

Are you saying that the PS5 controller is the best?

Not really sure, tbh. I've only used the Dual Sense once or twice. I do own a customized Xbox Series controller that I use for my PC, which is really comfortable.

I always thought the One controller was more comfortable than the DS4, but I haven't been able to compare the Dual Sense for enough time to really claim either or

Well, I don't disagree with other people's personal preferences.

Elder Scrolls VI load times on series X are 10 seconds vs the PS5 is, "still waiting".

By the time it releases, the ps5 will have a huge amount of fantastic exclusives.

Also, Ill just play elder scrolls 6 on my PC.

Last time I played it was on ps3. Hopefully the graphics have improved as much as the loading
