That’s only 57. We are missing 4 games, no?

Hahaha. How did that not jump out at me that kart was missing.

anyways - interesting to note there are no DK, Kirby, or Metroid games on that list.

a little surprised at Kirby because they produce so many Kirby games.

@MadDogg Kirby has a good shot to be on that list with Forgotten Land, especially with the Switch 2 Edition, although we might not know it officially. Even without a Switch 2 Edition, it had a decent shot of reaching 10m.

@ShadowLink93 How are you going to handle Switch 2 Edition games? For my list, I'm going to essentially group all Switch 2 Edition game sales with their original Switch 1 sales (maybe I'll put as asterisk to note that the game has a Switch 2 edition).

@Sephiran To be fair, Mario Maker 2 and Forgotten Land could hit 10m as well (especially with Switch 2 editions), but we might never know that they hit 10m even if they do. You're right that Z-A will probably be the last confirmed one, unless Gen 10 is a Switch 1 release with simultaneous Switch 2 edition (which I think is a decent possibility).

The list has been updated with the recent financial results through September 30, 2025!

MK World will definitely make the list after the holiday quarter, and I imagine we will see ZA as well. Bananza should eventually get there.

I do hate how they are separating Switch 2 Editions based on whether they are physical or digital, but I don't think it will impact most games too much. Ideally, I would've included it with the base game (for example BOTW would have its total and then a note right under saying "of which Switch 2 Edition: insert sales figures here").

In any case, MK8DX will be the first Nintendo game since Wii Sports to cross 70m. Combined with MK8 Wii U should be able to surpass Wii Sports! ACNH should cross 50m, especially with the new update coming (I previously though a new AC would release in 2027, but now I feel it will be early 2028, so that buys more time). SSBU should surpass MKWii sometime next year and if it gets a Switch 2 Edition, passing Super Mario Bros. is on the table. BOTW could pass MKWii in a couple of years, especially if the movie generates positive WOM. Odyssey should join the 30m club this holiday and with the 40th anniversary and Mario Galaxy Movie, it should at least pass Pokemon RGB in its lifetime (I previously thought 3D Mario would release in 2026, but I now see it being Holiday 2027, so that buy more time).

Would not be surprised if SWSH doesn't pass Wii Play. SV will though (probably from the holidays). Still can't see it passing RGB or even hitting 30m, but it will come respectably close, I'd imagine. NSMBU DX is still chugging along. I imagine we'll get updates on other 10m sellers before the FY ends (such as 3D World and maybe Wonder if people don't wait for the NS2 Edition).

Jamboree and Kirby will probably join the 10m club eventually, although we might not know for Kirby.

Updated through December 31, 2025! Really important that I just want to point out that I am counting all Switch 2 edition sales as Switch 1 software sales! I know it's different from how Nintendo tracks it, but fortunately this only impacts a very small number of games (for this list, Z-A will probably be the only major game impacted anyways).

There were several new position changes/additions this time around! MKWorld has burst onto the scene at 46th place. Expect it to continue to climb. For reference, MK8 DX sold 7.33 million by the end of 2017 and MKWii sold 13.67 million by the end of 2008! I'll be curious to see how MKWorld continues over time. I do expect it to at least be the third best selling Nintendo game of all time at the end of Switch 2's life. Whether or not it surpasses MK8DX & Wii Sports would remain up in the air, but I do see it at least exceeding 60 million. https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2009/090130e.pdf https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2018/180131_3e.pdf

SSBU has surpassed MKWii, becoming the 5th best selling Nintendo game. I could see it surpassing Super Mario Bro., but mostly if they do a Switch 2 edition (which I think is likely). If that happens then at the end of Switch 2's life, Super Mario Bros. will be out of the top 5! Mario Odyssey surpassed 30m and should definitely surpass NSMB & NSMBWii (I would say before the end of this year). Will probably just miss Wii Sports Resort in the end. SV surpasses Wii Play and continues the battle to 30m. I personally don't think it will make it, but we'll see. Even if it does, I don't see it passing RGB.

NSMBU DX, Switch Sports and Wonder continue their battle to 20m. I could honestly see all three getting there. Wonder will likely see a jump due to the Switch 2 edition. NSMBU DX will probably be around at least 19.50m by the end of this year. If Switch Sports gets a Switch 2 edition soon, that would help, but it probably doesn't need that to reach 20m. Combined, Z-A opened a hair below Arceus, but we'll see what happens. Will probably at least cross 15-16m lifetime.

Jamboree is less than 1m from joining this club!

If DK Bananza continues to leg it out, it may get there in the end, though it'll take some time.

I can also see Pokémon Pokopia and Splatoon Raiders having a shot if they're well received.

@curl-6 I agree that DK can definitely leg it out to 10m. Probably not much higher than that though, but 10m would make it the best selling DK game.

I don't see Pokopia reaching it because Pokémon spin-offs have never hit 10m, and rarely even hit half that. Raiders is a possibility, but we'll need to see more of it before making that determination.

I mean, Legends Arceus and Z-A are spin-offs and those topped 10m.
