Did it break the 360's streak for most consecutive months? I thought they (Xbox 360) had a 32 month streak in the US.

Anyway, congrats to the PS5! I'd figure it was gonna happen sooner or a bit later.

Yep. The 360's winning streak lasted from Jan. 2011 to Aug. 2013. It was broken in Sept. 2013 when GTAV caused a bigger boost for the PS3 than for the 360, enough to propel the PS3 to first place. The 360 would have one final first-place finish the following month, the last before the PS4 & XBO debuted. Had the 360 still managed to come in first in Sept. 2013, it would still have the longest winning streak at 34 months.

Damn GTA

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Around the Network

@Shadow1980 I thought the 360 had a 22 month streak (August 2011 to April 2013), unless if that was broken by the 3DS and if you are only referring to home consoles maybe?

I'm pretty sure they're excluding handhelds from this. For home consoles it lasted 32 months, but if you include handhelds the 3DS beat the 360 in May 2013, so technically the 360 lasted 28 months as the best selling platform in the U.S.
