Really don't care too much about men's hair length. They're ugly either way.

Many men look spectacular with healthy, well looked after long hair, many also look amazing with well groomed full beards

Bottom line is, if its healthy, abundant and well groomed, men can look as majestic as lions

A Lion without its mane is still beautiful, but it is left diminished, same for a de-antlered Buck Deer, or a tuskless Bull Elephant  

Culturally we can be trained to see the beauty in an almost hairless man, but this isn't mans natural state, instinctively the most pleasing and powerful by nature is the look our genes gave us   

Nice on him. i can picture him to play a Samson character in a Samson movie.

Not really, I don't like long hair on guys.

It will really come down to how you style it.

The awkward part is that transition between medium length hair and long hair, many people will think you're part of a Beatles cover band...

I've always preferred shorter vs longer for myself, and it simply looks cleaner and more professional for guys. Longer and shaggy is nice during the winter in Canada however. Makes a pretty big difference when it comes to keeping warm, especially outside. Have never had it longer than completely covering my ears. My hair always curls back up at that point.

Chicks have only ever complimented me here and there when my hair was cut short, though the only times they go for a 'hair brushing' with their hands is when my hair is long and shaggy. Same thing with any of my GF's. They clearly liked more hair to play with even though they preferred the short look.

I like looking like how my wife likes me to look, and she likes looking how I like her to look. As for my style, that means shorter hair (though not super short). She's the only person I care about pleasing visually. If she wanted me to grow out a mullet cause she liked that look, I'd do it. What looks good for each person is subjective.

It depends: men not young anymore and with long and bony faces, with long straight hair tend to look like Uncle Creepy or Riff Raff.
