Gaming PCs on the level of PS are on similar number, so it wouldn`t help each game being played by hundred millions of people.

By 'advertising' PS IP across other types of media. Just the movies alone will bring in more customers to the PS gaming division, assuming the movies aren't junk. How much growth is questionable and I don't see it being 100 mil customers in just a few years time, but over the course of a decade, now that's a different story. A 'PS Steam Deck' with proper support would also help a lot, since mobile is clearly a big market and continuing to expand. Maybe even a cheaper 'PS5 XBSS'. VR should continue to grow as the tech advances and get's cheaper, plus PS has a monopoly on that with consoles, for now. PS Now could always become somewhat more like Netflix/GP or something beyond that.

Tough to make next level AAA games the more you cater to a growing casual audience though. Plenty of ways, just depends which avenues they take.

Yep movies and TV shows can help push them in that direction. PSnow as well. Releasing games on PC. Witcher 3 got a huge uptick in sales from how successful the TV show was.

Prior to that statement, Jim Ryan said "I believe the PS5 is going to be Sony's biggest and best console generation." Hundreds of people having access to their games sounds like a long term goal, most likely includes their plans for subscription services, don't forget Sony themselves are aiming for a billion+ people to be using their services.

Aside from multimedia expansion, a subscription service that embodies all of Sony's entertainment pillars will be the end game for them in the streaming wars, and if done right, could have hundreds of millions of people subbed and "experiencing" their games.

Sony is working on a cloud gaming strategy that is 'unique and only on PlayStation'.

Using Microsoft azure server.

PSNow could play PS5 games on any display with internet if Sony so much develop it that way. But sure let's wait for an announcement.

PC market isnt that big.
Even if a "hit game" on PS does like 20m+ sales... chances of it matching that on PC side? slim.
So at most your gonna go to like 40m sales.

Hitting 100m+ sales, will require something else than just porting things to pc (and allowing it everywhere there).

maybe if Sony grows PSnow base (we're talking like 50m+ users)? and puts games on there, it could go abit closer to hitting that 100m+ base.
To be profitable, it has to be after PS, and at most, same ish time as PC port. Also they will likely have to go the xbox route, of adding ingame purchases, to make such a model profitable (much like gamepass).

Supposedly back in 2020, god of war went past 20m sales.
With the PS5 patch, and new upcomeing God of War, linked to the PS4 game (story wise), it could likely see a boost, on PS5, with new users.
Its not inconceivable that it reaches 30m or more (on ps4+5) at some point. Maybe it does 10m on pc? at some point.
Still a long way off hitting 100m.
