My mother has been in the hospital for a week now so I did not have much time for posting. Here are the images of the casing. That cardboard box really is interesting.

Dang hope she's alright!

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

From the article:

"The Steam Deck won’t arrive at the station until February, but it’s not your only ticket to ride the portable PC train. There are already a few options on the market from the likes of Ayaneo, and the company just unveiled yet another high-spec handheld, dubbed Next. Unfortunately, it won’t boast any of AMD’s newly announced Ryzen 6000 APUs, and its price tag will significantly dent your bank balance.

Announced at CES 2022, the Ayaneo Next will use a Ryzen 7 5800U APU, rather than an AMD Zen 3+ mobile chip. According to the company’s CEO, Arthur Zhang, the CPU choice should ensure that it’s “available to gamers as soon as possible”, a move that will ultimately help prevent the device from trailing behind the Steam Deck."

"AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) should be a huge deal for Steam Deck based on its Linux performance"

So the quick resume/suspend only works on Steam games, not Gamepass ones? If I get one, I'd primary get it to be my portable Gamepass machine, so that would be a deal breaker. Clarification would be appreciated!

That's an interesting question. Are there different specs and/or instructions to how you install your Gamepass PC games? I'm asking it because I've never used GP or seen it working, so I imagine if you can install those to the same directory that you would your regular Steam games, you should be fine, I guess.

Well unless MS is gonna start offering Gamepass on Steam, Gamepass games will continue to be locked behind Windows Store which has no Native linux support afaik. So at the current state, you would have to install Windows onto the Steam Deck for it to be a gamepass machine and of course, get rid of the suspend and resume functionality entirely.

I believe it is full Windows, but I have not checked it in detail.
