If she doesn't mind a game being scary, I'd recommend The Medium. It is available on Game Pass and is story-driven with some minor puzzles that at least to me were really easy to figure out. It also has a female protagonist.

I actually forgot to add that one to the list of games she has played. She really likes it (loves horror movies/games) but stopped playing because she kept getting lost and not knowing where to go.

She likes Horizon and Tomb Rider, so maybe the key is to find action adventure games with powerful female leads

I advice The Last of Us 2, but you have no PS4

Maybe she would enjoy Resident Evil 2 remake

We both would love to play The Last of Us 2. Maybe sometime later this year we'll have some extra cash to get a PS5 (if there's even stock at that time lol). She also loves horror games but often times says they are too difficult and just wants me to play them so she can watch haha.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is in gamepass, interesting game with good story and great visuals.
Quantum Break : Good story and visuals. (Gamepass)
Nier Automatas : Solid grafics and easy gameplay. Crazy story with multiple walktroughs to discover the full game.(Gamepass)
A Way Out : Good story, decent grafics. The game is 2 players local and online (Gamepass)
Control: Third person shoter with metroidvania skills. Very good grafics and story (Gamepass)

Great List, I will add those to the list of potential games she may like. Not sure about Nier Automata though, does that one have an easy mode?

Nier Automata is easy. The opening battle is one of the most dificult of the whole game (if you can take that, the rest will be ok) You can pick an easy difficult setting before you start the game.

My wife loves Siberia I and II, we started III but never got around to finishing it. (Rip Benoît Sokal)

Other than that, she loves Ratchet and Clank (but no ps4/ps5), BotW and Lego City Undercover were huge favorites as well.

More good ones on Steam, Dreamfall Chapters, Broken Age and Mirror's edge (don't know if it has an easy mode)

Thanks, I forgot about Dreamfall Chapters being an option. I feel like a noob for asking but what does BotW stand for?

If she likes Tomb Raider then Uncharted 4 (when it eventually releases on Steam) seems like a decent choice.

While a fair bit different (though still having the action part in common) the Borderlands games could be an option too. They'd have the added benefit that you could play in co-op as well if you wanted.

Ah yes, I know she would enjoy the new Uncharted Games! When is that supposed to come to Steam? Are there other Uncharted games that may make their way over?

Regarding Borderlands, we did try it but she just wasn't into it. She's not a fan of those looter shooters.

Bold: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Here are some games that come to mind:

Final Fantasy X - Has a great story with an ensemble cast.  It's not too difficult to play either.
Dragon Quest XI - This will probably appeal to most people who like Final Fantasy X: ensemble cast, decent story, not too difficult.
The Last of Us 1&2 - These seem to fit your description the best, but you'd have to shell out money for a PS4.
Undertale - Great story, simple to play, and the main character could be either male or female.  Graphics are not impressive though.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition obviously comes to mind. Female Commander Shepard is arguably the best female character in any video game ever, and the the trilogy as a whole is just fantastic, so there's a good chance she'd enjoy that I think.

Nier Automata, as has already been said, is a good one, and the easy mode on that game can literally play itself. All you really gotta do is move the character around.

Dishonored 2 is really great, and the story really lends itself to you playing as Emily rather than Corvo, so I'd recommend that.

Control is worth a try. I'd say it's on the weaker side of Remedy's output as far as storytelling and character go, but it's still a pretty cool game, and also a very good looking one, particular with the ray-tracing in the Ultimate Edition. Quantum Break is honestly a better game imo, and also on GP, but if the female lead is very important, Control would obviously be the way to go.

Dragon Age Inquistion. Again, a lot of women tend to really like Bioware games, because you get to make a female character, and you get to build relationships with a wide range of other unique characters that are all integral to the experience. The game is a bit bloated with content, but if you mostly stick to the main path, it's not really an issue.

You guys could try playing Divinity: Original Sin (1 or 2) together. It's more of a long shot, as she may not be in to a top down game like that, but the writing is very engaging, and humorous, and playing games together always really elevates the experience.
