Forums - General Discussion - Rapper DMX OD suffers Heart Attack

Saw him at the Minnesota Zombie pub crawl years ago. He was suppose to go on sometime around 8pm or so, we kept getting announcements that he was running late. It was an outdoor event so it had to be done I think at 10pm, he finally showed up about about 15 minutes before that time played Ruff Ryders Anthems and two other songs and left the stage. Even though he only played 3 songs, what he played was pretty good. He seems like a fighter, we'll see if he can get through this.

He has a long criminal history. Including driving drunk which I take great offense to. I don't have much sympathy sorry. A long history of drug use. This was a ticking time bomb to go off and it just did.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Don't do drugs, kids.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

We really don't know why people turn to or return to these heavy drugs. From what I hear, it's extremely difficult to overcome. I'm not giving X any excuse, but it's easy for people outside of addiction to be opinionated on someone else's "demons". I couldn't imagine being on the other end of addiction knowing I want to stop, but just can't for whatever reason. No excuse would be good enough to some. You see or hear what he's doing and you go off of that. It's the way it is for most people. I guess I have a different take on it seeing as I've seen a few close folks of mine and suffer and even succumb to addiction.

DMX is by far one of my favorite rappers. So this really sucks. I don't really want him to die, but it's not looking good. I don't do prayer(s) or anything like that, but I hope for the best for his family and the hip hop community that loves and respects him.

The drug use doesn't move me one way or the other, but the animal abuse and drunk driving makes it hard for me to feel too bad.

Drugs will do that to ya. Hope he pulls through...

Ah yes, consequences of your own actions

If you require alcohol to have fun, then you have a problem

I don't know him, but he seems to have a lot of fans, so I hope he gets better.

Today, in Brazil, we lost a 84 years old famous singer, and it really hurted the country...

Not a huge fan but I have enjoyed a couple of his songs. I mean "Party Up" is a hip-hop classic! How many movie trailers have featured that song? Hope he pulls through.
