I've been watching Russian Doll on Netflix. Likely referring to the nesting dolls.

First season is like groundhog day except she keeps dying repeatedly and reliving the same day yet changes happen and she meets someone else going through the same. It's a pretty interesting take on groundhog day.

I'm currently in season 2 and it gets even weirder. Back to the future style this time, except she can go back and forth to her pregnant mother and live her mother's life for bits at a time, trying to fix her mother's mistakes. I just started season 2, intrigued to see where it goes and what time travel 'rules' they'll use.

Today I watched Frankenstein from Guillermo Del Torro. Beautiful cinematography and a nice take on the story. Good from start to finish. Netflix delivered this month.

Agreed on Alien: Earth. I was watching that before Russian Doll, what a mess. Cool to see the 'remake' part of the first movie but I quit watching soon after.

Alice in Borderland also devolved into yuck, season 3 is ugh.

Around the Network

Watched the Five Nights at Freddy's movie. It fit the tone of the games at least, made you feel bad for the animatronics, and most characters who died wee unlikable assholes, so it's passable.

Gen V S2: Definitely looser than the first season, but it came together in the end and got me pumped for the final season of The Boys.

Clicked the Moana remake trailer just to hit the dislike button.

I started re-watching Dark. I couldn't find anything good to watch on Netflix, might as well re-watch the best they have on it.

Around the Network

Saw the new trailer for Pixar's Hoppers, which looks like it will be a fun screwball comedy about a young lady named Mabel who puts her mind in a robotic beaver to interact with real animals, but then may end up having to stop the animals from going to all our war with neighboring humans.

Rental Family: The Brennaissance continues! A fun, funny, sweet movie. Everyone in the theater was smiling or laughing pretty much the whole way through. A great option for older families without little rascals to see this week. Best of luck on The Mummy 4!

Gonna see Zootopia 2 today at last. ^^

Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel: Finally got around to watching these. S1 of HB starts off a little thin but seemingly since they got that Amazon money and scaled up to proper 30 minute episodes both shows have been firing on all cylinders. Vivienne Medrano is one talented chick. A definite inspiration for any aspiring creator. Looking forward to more!

Currently watching "Task" on HBO - Ruffalo is brilliant in it, but the overall plot is very predictable. It's a good show, but nowhere near as amazing as I was led to believe.

I'm also watching "Pluribus" on AppleTV, the episodes they've released so far have been really good. Seehorn is incredible, something I noticed when watching "Better Call Saul" a few years back. The premise is exciting and actually original (!), and it's so different from not only what Gilligan has done before, but what's on TV in general.
