Forums - Gaming Discussion - DF Face off PS5 vs XSX Cyberpunk comparison (plus gen 8 vs gen 9)

Yeah the crowd density is way lower on PS5. Wonder why.

Definitely gonna be doing my second play through after the next gen update.

PS5/XSX are based on PS4Pro/XOneX versions, so differences like that are from differences of last gen consoles.

Kinda wondering if the PS4 Pro plays any better than the PS4 they used (or did they use Pro and just not say it). I honestly wonder if they just released the 8 gen version just out of fear of backlash. Either way, can't wait for the port.

Haven't you watched their other video with the PS4 / PS4 Pro comparison?

Even the Pro has dips under 20 fps:

NXGamer did an analysis and found the SX version runs at a higher resolution than PS5, has various effects like explosions and things going on in sequences missing in the PS version, and has many more people and vehicles on the streets while averaging about 3 less frames per second.

The crowd density difference was staggering. He had an area he dubbed “ten pin alley” or something, just loaded with people on SX, a ghost town on PS5. It’s like Cyberpunk 2020 on PS5 for some reason, COVID crowds. I guess maybe it’s running PS4 Pro mode and PS4 Pro has a lot less going on than the X1X version that SX is based on.

Maybe DF wasn’t running the new patch on SX while NXG was?

That is very interesting.  You should link the video here and in the other thread regarding the topic.

I'm not surprised at all. This is exactly what happened 8 years ago (Far Cry 3 for example), AND 7th gen consoles, when launched, were at the cutting edge of what was possible. Both X1 and PS4 were released with already anaemic hardware.

Something not mentioned too much. Not only are the base systems already 7 years old, there was a wealth of evidence early on they were built on a budget and would struggle to last. Didn't stop people buying them in droves.

We didn't start seeing the first Cyberpunk gameplay trailers until fairly late in the gen, and it should've been apparent those base systems would struggle to run it anywhere close to it's intended quality.

They should also make a comparison playing Cyberpunk on PS4 Pro / Xbox One X with HDD and SSD. Maybe a SSD can fix a few problems, f. e. texture streaming.

Next gen looks great but last gen runs fine, it's not flawless but still fine. Y'all say what you say but image speaks for itself
