Well, it seems I was in error thinking PS5 launch would have damaged Switch sales (and it's not happening, at least not this year and probably not next year either) :D
Instead the PS5 launch is harming only PS5 itself since its clear there are not enough units to satisfy the demand. In other words, in an ideal situation (no covid, no Microsoft competition) it had been better for Sony to posticipate launch in February/March 2021 to have more units and a big exclusive game available at launch, because from what i'm hearing anyone buying a PS5 right now is doing it for (mostly) playing PS4 games on the new hardware.
