Considering that neither title has been released yet... that's a foolish statement. |
No, I disagree. These are big money titles regaurdless of their quality, making Namco one of the few companies to plan or release big money titles on the Wii exclusively. |
1) Until these titles are on store shelves they are vaporware. Remarking on quality of a game you haven't played is foolish. 2) Namco is putting Tales of games on tons of platforms. They're shoveling them out the door these days. Getting one for the Wii especially a measily sequel and not the next main Tales of game is depressing. 3) The new ToS game could easily bomb. The original was mediocre and this one seems to offer very little in the way of original concepts/gameplay (that we have seen). |
Titles that are coming out aren't vaporware. Give me a break.
I'm not commenting on their quality. I said they cost a lot of money. More than a port, more than shovelware. They could suck, but they certainly are costly.
Tales of Symphonia wasn't mediocre, imo, or in most reviewers opinions. It was great. It also has the biggest fanbase of any "tales" game to date, WAY bigger than it's second place finisher, Tales of the Abyss, by the same development team, mind you. Furthermore, the same team that did ToS, TotA(the other critically acclaimed tales game I know of) is doing its next game as ToS 2. Not a shovelware tales game, a real one by a great development team.
You don't seem to know much about it.
That said, ToS obviously has a huge cult following.
So what if it easily bombs. It's a Wii quality JRPG with 60 hours of gameplay from a great development team. It costs some money and has been in development for along time. That's why I think Namco deserves some props. It's more than most other developers are willing to invest for a Wii exclusive so early in the consoles life when the title was obviously started.
You don't seem to know anything about ToS2, so keep your conjecture to yourself. Your nitpicking is bothering me, honestly.
