Forums - Nintendo - 7-inch LCD Monitor for the Nintendo Wii - would you buy this?

Source: http://www.techshout.com/gaming/2008/19/7-inch-lcd-monitor-for-the-nintendo-wii/

ChinaVasion has launched an innovative product named the 7-inch Nintendo Wii LCD Monitor. You can attach the screen on the back side of the Wii console.

The screen is equipped with a ball and socket hinge so it can be turned appropriately whenever you want to use it. On the other hand when the screen is not in use, it can be folded down against the Wii.

The screen is further powered by a normal Wii power cable or by the included cigarette lighter adapter.

Moreover the screen features a reverse/up/down picture control to fix the picture.

The good news is that the screen can also be plugged into other devices such as a DVD or other media players with the extra AV outputs.

The Nintendo Wii LCD Monitor is now available at Chinavasion.com for $101.45.

How is this different from a standard cheap screen of that size?

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

Pretty cool. But wouldn't it be like, super tricky to get IR controls done right on such a small screen?

lol wont sell

who would want that seriously

I see potential for people who want their Wii's in their vans for their kids (with classic controllers so they can play some old VC games). I could also see some parents buying it to use on a vacation so the kids get relegated to the 7inch screen while they take over the only TV in the hotel.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

I've stolen my parents 13in tv in the kitchen for road trips, and you can't play games that use motion or IR at all. To many bumps on the road. However, it was useful once we got to our hotel, because they don't let you hook stuff up to the tv.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

Doesn't the Wii use too much energy to be able to use the cigarette lighter? I doubt it would work in a car...

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

I had one for the Gamecube, for the long car rides and times when the tv is being used and I just want to play games. Now for the wii, don't know how it will do

Meh, I wouldn't buy it, got one for the 'Cube and never used it. :p
