It is not a possibility it is certain PS5 and XSX are BC. And from the trailer it just seems like a BC version without any improvements. Still it may push additional 10M sales and quite possibly they may sell a improved version instead of giving free patch.

Seems weird going through a whole gen without a new GTA but turns out that's going to be the case. And now, instead announcing a new 9th gen game, they're remastering an 8th gen 7th gen remaster...

I don't know if I will get it on XSX or PS5, it depends from the release date of GTA6. If GTA6 is very late, I might consider GTAV on Next Gen Hardware if 4K/60fps, enhanced Graphics and Ray Tracing. Am I asking for too much ? ;D

Considering it is a game that runs on PS3 4k60fps with a decent implementation of RT wouldn`t be much to ask, but will R* care about it when they can still sell the same game?

Yeah, that's what I meant. Technically it shouldn't be a problem at all. It depends from R*. They have earned some money with GTAV, they should put some extra effort in the PS5/XSX Version.

The question I have is that, if companies are going to keep pumping up remasters and next gen ports to the new consoles, are they going to allow BC to their titles? Is that something they can do (is the BC digital or mechanical?) or will the platform holders stop them?
