Batman in new Mortal Kombat - fatalities OUT

Midway has revealed its long talked-up, "re-imagined" Mortal Kombat game... and Batman's in it.

The artwork to the right was leaked to MK fansite Mortal Kombat Online, and is looking very likely to be the first look at Midway's Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe game. Our Mike's in Vegas right now at a Midway press orgy, so look out for first-hand reports over the weekend.

How the hell did it happen? We're still scratching our heads, but a report on Kotaku that says the game will feature no fatalities and "little to no blood", explains a few things.

Let's hope the last bit turns out to be rubbish, otherwise it's not really Mortal Kombat anymore, is it?

I wonder why they're bothering to do this. They should know Capcom gave up this practice a long time ago, and the time for competition in Comics vs. Fighting Series has come and went. They should have just created a seperate DC fighting game and worked on a new Mortal Kombat. Or they could have used Image Comics and probably had all the Fatalities they wanted: WildC.A.T.S., Spawn, Savage Dragon, Shadow Hawk, etc.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.
