Oh, great to see new updates. Does anyone who played New Leaf know if Nintendo keeps updating the game for a few months/years?

I believe most of the patches for New Leaf were bug fixes until the Welcome amiibo Update which was 1.5 brought new features and was pretty much the last update.

But can't find any official history.

Yea the welcome amiibo update was the main big one in New Leaf.  I believe they released special items throughout the years with different regions getting different items.  You could check the internet for it at I believe the post office but eventually they stopped putting those special limited items out.   Welcome amiibo update was pretty decent though since added more items, camp area for new character Harv and 2 mini games that were semi decent.

Well the update seems decent. Wondering where the heck Redd was at. Glad they added this stuff back into game now that was there at start of New Leaf. It's almost like they are piece mealing us the game like Arms or Splatoon. Oh well least they aren't charging...

This game is going about things differently than past AC games. Past AC games didn't really have major updates, barring the welcome amiibo update for new leaf.

I think it's just to stop time travellers from spoiling everything within the first week or so and to keep people talking about the game for months. Unless you time travel (play the game wrong) this stuff shouldn't have a big affect on how you play the game compared with other AC's.

Yea probably some of it is to prevent time travelers from ruining game.  I bet some of it also was due fact wasn't complete or completely tested game when launched.  Heck look at first event Bunny day was semi disaster.  I had so many balloons flying over town it was crazy.  They increased rate of regular balloons and then you had bunny balloons that were more frequent than regular added on top...  That obviously wasn't play tested too long.   Took first day for me to realize this was too much.  Also fishing had ton eggs too.  I believe they released patch to tone it down.

But I'm all for time travelers not ruining game.  Have friend that does that but I don't partake in it.  I believe I went to next day a couple times but that's it.

I'm glad we didn't have to wait months or years for these features. Here's hoping we get more shops (The Roost, Kicks, etc.) before the year is over. New Horizons really doesn't feel complete without those things.

AC is made by the Splatoon team, so of course they're going to keep the updates rolling in. AC is the perfect game for drip-feed content too, keeps people engaged throughout the year with new events. Can't wait for the Roost to come back (hopefully in the next update..)

I think it should be other way round right.  Wasn't the AC team the Splatoon team?   AC has been around a lot longer than Splatoon.   Still doesn't give excuse to release incomplete game.  Luckily they are saved by the slow nature of AC gameplay.
