I'm not a big joystick fan, but that Hori stick does have some really high marks with the gaming crowd. $79 is a lot for something I "might" like, though.

As much as I want SC IV and SF 4 for the 360, I'm likely to go with the PS3 versions. SF 4 on the PS3 at the very least. :(

You're in the US, right? Well if you do a little search for "xbox 360 hori fighting stick" you can find it cheaper.

I think the lowest I saw it on here was for ~$49. (not sure about tax/shipping, though)

edit: @disolitude: yeah Saturn pads are awesome! Still one of my favorite controllers of all time. Oh and they do have a newer version of the XFPS out (http://www.xcm.cc/XFPS__3.0_Sniper_Plus.htm ), I was thinking about getting one myself. How do you like yours?

I was never really a "joystick guy". When it comes to fighting games, I NEED a D-Pad! Unfourtunately, this is the only design flaw I have with Microsoft's default 360 controller. The d-pad is VERY imprecise. After dominating the 90's with Nintendo and Sony's awesome controllers, I find it nearly impossible to consistently execute my special moves in Street Fighter 2 Turbo on Xbox Live Arcade. As a result, the Japanese laugh at the mention of my Gamertag! Does anyone know of a high quality 3rd Party controller for the Xbox 360? If I'm going to humiliate Elgefe02 in Soul Calibur IV and Street Fighter 4, there can be no room for error.

Here is what I did to solve this problem...

I bought the PS2 to xbox 360 converter called XFPS Pro... http://www.xcm.cc/XFPS_360_PRO.htm

And then I bought the Saturn pad made for PS2 by sega off ebay. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-m-49-en-70-imb.html

It cost me 200 bucks for everything but man...its the best 200 bucks ever spent as saturn pad is god.

↑ This. You, my friend, have saved the day!

Yeah...glad I could help. :)

PS2 Saturn pads are very rare nowadays and mine was 100 bucks on ebay. But you can use other PS2 pads like SF official ones made by nuby so that adapter is pretty useful.

People shouldn't argue about controllers as we all have different tastes. I think PS1/PS2/PSP D-pad is the biggest piece of shyte I've ever come across...but my friend does dragon punches with ease. And if I give him the satun pad, he looks like a school girl while I dominate... So it really depends what you played with first and what your hands got used to.

What's retarded is that SEGA invented the perfect D-pad in, what, 1992. But Sony's started designing pads around looking "cool" and here we are.

If you really want to get serious about any fighting game, learn stick. It might not seem so, but pad limits your potential.

For 360 you can find the Hori sticks still, I think (VF5). And I'm sure a new one will come out when SFIV/SFII:HD come out.

You can take the guts out of a 360 or PSX pad and put it in, say, a Saturn controller, but for 360 that's pretty expensive cos those are $40 controllers you're ripping up. But it works with gen1 PSX pad PCB into a Saturn pad.
