11 years of pent up demand for a play-at-home Momotaro is coming to a head.

It's weird, normally being portable is a big selling point in Japan, but simply cos of the kind of game MD is, the opposite is happening where it being playable in a group setting on a TV seems to be a big draw.

Hmm I didnt realize, but since Nintendo isnt publishing AoC in Japan they have publish no retail games between October and February in Japan. That's kinda crazy

Did they not publish Pikmin 3 Deluxe?

It released in October.

How about Xenoblade Definitive Edition and Paper Mario Origami King?

What? Those released earlier this year.

I think Buddy Mission: BOND is being published by Nintendo even in Japan. But that comes out on January 29, so it's still true that Nintendo isn't releasing anything in November, December and most of January.

Looking at the COMG charts this could be greatly benefiting third parties on Switch. Age of Calamity and Momotetsu are going to be huge.

Ah yeah that's true - I thought it was early February. Wonder if that one comes to the West at some point.. it looks pretty good.

Ouch, only 12 points for the best game on the PS5?I'm not even sure they can sell out their stock with those numbers, that's really low!

Around the Network

As a I mentioned in the Prediction League, the PS5 software is probably this low due to scalpers and digital. But without any big titles coming out the rest of the fall it will be a very anemic launch quarter for the PS5 and things are looking to really improve as Switch has a pretty stacked line-up heading into 2021.

People are probably more focused on getting the Ps5 as it is just as hard to get one in Japan as it is anywhere else.

Damn, it's too low for PS5 software.

Man Age of Calamity and Momotaro are surging in the last few days before release.

Really curious to see how high MH Rise manages to climb by the time it comes out, it has several months to build up its numbers. I have a feeling it may pass even many significant first party releases.

Far harder actually.

At retail it was only available via lottery, and supposedly will continue to be lottery-only through the end of the year at least.
