World update. Again almost 125K new cases in a single day.

I changed the scale on the graphs, each vertical line is a new week (Sundays to be specific)
Europe is about even for the past week, North America going down very slowly.
South America jumped ahead as largest contributor while Asia and Africa are climbing as well.

Both North America and Europe passed the 2 million reported cases total, North America ahead.
Asia passed the 1 million a few days ago, South America is close to 850K.
The world passed 6 million total on Friday, and 370K total deaths so far.

No progress, the world total is seeing 110% week over week growth and currently accelerating.

Different strategies

Brazil passed the USA and is currently the largest contributor to reported cases in the world.
Canada is finally going down, USA a bit less while the rest is all growing.

Week over week changes

Canada drops to 82% week over week decline, the USA climbs a bit to 92% week over week decline.
Brazil is at 132% week over week growth, followed by India with 122% week over week growth.
Iran is back to the break even point while Japan is still declining week over week.

Still a long way to go.

Bit of fun :)

You should probably add Mexico to your 3-day-curves.
My guess is Mexico will spill over to US numbers at some point, there's just no way that can be avoided.
Maybe Orangehead's wall wouldn't be that bad now. Inconceivable that he is right one time with a single argument (even for the wrong reasons).

These riots...

Gotta spread that Coronavirus I guess.

A week or two from now, Im guessing theres a massive rise in Covid19 cases in Canada + US.
A week or two after that, the deaths follow.

Rioting in the middle of a pandemic is something else.

Sweden just had it first day of 0 reported deaths since this outbreak, we are also planning to open up high schools on june 15 and college/universities in fall, no more distant learning for them.

We are making progress.

From a purely statistical point of view, that is simply not possible. Last weekend has shown very strange low numbers in many countries, so my guess is whoever runs the show in those countries "just got tired on weekends" to put it mildly.

Mexico is included in North America which is still declining by a small margin (98% week over week)
Currently Mexico is adding 3360 new cases per day, well passed Canada (890 per day), well short of the USA (23,600 per day)
Mexico keeps growing though, 129% week over week, 1.037x per day, 19 days to double.
If they don't get it under control very soon, North America will start climbing again.

Sweden hardly reports deaths on Sundays. Last week Sweden reported 397 deaths, 57 per day on average. Yet the last 4 Sundays Sweden only reported 2 to 6 deaths. Basically nobody likes to work on Sundays ;)

The reported cases have been growing again since last Monday. Not big growth, about 112% week over week.
Sweden reported 3925 cases last week vs 3511 the week before. 560 new cases per day on average.
Opening schools will keep the fire going.

Protests in Toronto for Regis

Crowds of people donned face masks and gathered in Christie Pits Saturday to demand justice for a Toronto woman who fell to her death after police were called to her home this week. Regis Korchinski-Paquet reportedly fell to her death out of the 24th floor of a High Park apartment. Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating the incident after her family raised questions about whether officers’ actions contributed to her death. The protest was organized by Not Another Black Life, and some attendees estimated thousands of people showed.

We also have a new outbreak in St Thomas, migrant workers in a vegetable packing plant :/

Since they/we appear to be lagging about 800-1000 deaths still (unexplained deaths in national statistics over the last few weeks), there are probably at least 30-40 who died in the last 24 hours across the nation of Covid-19. Weekend reporting of new deaths is something Sweden seems unable to do, perhaps the city folk is too busy crowding in the sun and at restaurants to keep track during weekends. And they're still squabbling over why testing is only at about 1/4 of what was promised weeks ago. The rest of Europe is placing us in quarantine as well, it seems. Goddamn disaster is what it is, and not one soul is taking an iota of responsibility for anything, they're all just pointing fingers at one another in an endless circle. Humanitarian superpower indeed.

Drohler and Svenneoj, check worldofmeter.info

No dead, as for keeping the fire going. Our government mentioned something about the increase of the virus spread will be minimal. But I think it can increase from more use of public transportation.

Where you getting 800-1000 extra deaths? Haven't seen anything about that.

As for testing, we don't need more testing, we need less testing. It only screws up our numbers.

Edit:

The latest numbers I found was 4000 excess death on may 17 "As of 17 May, there had been approximately 4000 excess deaths in Sweden since late March. - wikipedia"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_in_Sweden#Excess_mortality

We had reported 3679 dead on that day, considering backlog, we are very close.

As for travel, we are all EU members, they can't block us from entering their country, besides I was reading today several citizen from EU countries are visiting our country now :)
