The intake is on the bottom of the system. Anybody worth their salt will be putting this thing on its side.
Holy shit this is impressive. Apparently I read that these specs outclass 99% of PCs used on Steam. This ain’t no slouch and this could be a potential draw for would-be PC gamers. It will be far more costly to build these specs. Can’t wait to buy this beast

MS better have a 2tb version at launch, NVME memory cards are going to be so damn expensive.
My 2tb XB1 S and 4tb HDD isn’t even enough for me right now next gen is going to be crazier.

Ya that’s my fear. This doesn’t look like $499 specs. They can include a mandatory bundled game options and a few months of GP to sweeten the deal. Even make financing possible, not just at Ms stores but GameStop, Best Buy and Walmart.
I hope the Lockhart $300 rumor is true cause at least the masses won’t be scared away from the brand. I feel it’s a mental hurdle to buy the Series X, MS just has to make it attractive with its 1st party studios.

They wouldn't call it the 'Series X' if there weren't other consoles planned such as, 'Series S, Y, etc.'
So now we have specs and features MS can focus on games at their digital show.
@Pemalite What is this comparable to?
I'm guessing a 3700X + 2070S + 1TB 2.5' SSD + 8 to 12GB of RAM (Because Series X's 16 GB of ram is shared between the GPU and the rest of the system.) Should run games at upscaled 4k (not true 4k), on high, but not ultra settings.
How far off am I?

I get your concern, and recognise that games will be more voluminous next generation. But I really don't think this will be an issue for 99% of gamers. If I can get six games on the internal HDD, its unlikely I will ever pay for an expansion HDD. Realistically I don't get enough gaming time to ever need to cycle more than 3-4 games anyway.
And assuming the 4k Blu-Ray is relatively quick, combined with ever-smarter installation options, installing or re-installing new games won't be too much of a hassle anyway.

Witcher 3 on a base PS4 was torture for me. 1 min loading times.
